  • i think this is draw...

  • "And I said 'lol'." You make chatspeak sound so official, it's hilarious XD

  • i played the polar bear system when in chicago had a team chess tournament where a low rated payer teamed up with a 1800 or so. And I played the polar bear system in two of my games(each game was like 2/3 wins, and there was a time limit of 5 minutes. I played a blunder that my partner showed me but my opponent didn't capitalize on it, and I ended up winning the game andtaking his king. It was about 6 rounds 4 wins and 1 loss. Anyway, it was a good game :) Just sharin' it with ya guys!

  • YOU CONQUER

  • Yei, past pawn with rook behind it!

  • yahoo chess is so ugly

  • "He said "Why does this game remind me of checkers?" and I said "lol". Rofl

  • "His plan seems sort of slow to me" :)

    Thanks for the videos

  • crack'a'shack

  • best. blitz player... EVER

  • lolllll no.

  • god. take the compliment.

  • krakkaskak*

  • I know, I just pointed out mr greencastle's way of pronouncing it

  • lol, just realised.

  • and i said, lol.

    wow.

  • lol

  • When you played (?) Nd2, When black played Kb7, I should have pushed c4 pawn. here is how it would work. whitemove blackmove

    1. c4 - bxc4

    2. bxc4

You win a pawn there white can't capture with dxc4 because that pawn is pinned because queen attacks king indirectly.

  • the checkers comment was a bit obscure.

  • and he said... lawl.

  • Which means lol right?

  • yes

  • At around 4:00 could you have played c4? I wonder know if it's any good but atleast to me it seems to open the queenside a bit. And your opponent could have fallen into the 1.- bxc4 2. Bxc4 dxc4 3. Nxc4+ trap :)

  • how do you spell the name, crakashak???

  • krakkaskak

  • Well, I would be surprised why he wouldn't at least forward my suggestion about the Polar Bear System to her. I would imagine she'd like to hear about a new system especially since it does allow White added tempo. I can tell you right now...that if Kramnik had tried The Polar Bear on Anand with White...the result would have been different and Kramnik might have regained the title.

  • I've been playing the Polar Bear System on FICS. I've run into problems when opponents who've learned about this setup reply by playing the Hippo. GM Danielsen still hasn't released his ebook on this opening. I'm wondering why. BTW, the Polar Bear is merely the Dutch Leningrad with a tempo more as White. It's curious why GM's don't play this opening sytem as it's relatively new. I once asked GM Susan Polgar on her blog about this opening and she didn't reply. Strange.

  • The Hippo sounds like it would be an okay means of fighting the Polar Bear. I prefer a London setup for Black with ..Bc5 after White has committed to d3.

Don't hold your breath, I know several high profile chess players don't maintain their own web presences. In the case of Susan Polgar, her blog is probably run by her husband, FM Paul Truong.

I assure you though, everything you see on my YouTube channel is written by me :-)

  • I didn't come up with it, that would be GM Henrik Danielsen. See the YouTube account: krakkaskak

  • "why does this game remind me of checkers"

    i said, "lol"

    LOL

  • No you fail. Bxc6 is simply met with Qxc6, there is no opportunity to win the Queen. There are plenty of opportunities to improve my analysis but if you decide to try at least check your work.

  • he'll just take it with the queen stupid lol fail...

  • you sound like jack black

  • I have to ask this one... who the bloody hell is cracker-jack? and why does he like the Bird's lol

  • um i think u mean krakkashak. it's his youtube channel full of live blitz. GM Henrik Danielson. Check it.

  • Ah, yeah now I listen to it again I hear what Matt is saying. Cheers -- I thought it was some sort of blitz computer program!

  • "and I said LOL"

    lol

  • Cool games man, they are fun to watch now I know how I lose all the time on yahoo.

  • I'm enjoying your renditions of the live blitz.

  • Wow, Matt you own!

  • Inside, I was.

  • I'm speechless.

  • lol

  • I don't believe you. I don't know what to believe anymore.

    You let me down Matt.

You let all of us down. How could you.

"lol" will never mean what it used to anymore. I'm dead inside.

  • I personally play at "ijji (dot com)", it has an awesome live free chess, however it's lowly populated...

    btw, great video...

  • If you people ever go to Yahoo! Chess, I own the first room in Social ;)

  • There are human players in social? I thought it was all spam bots and fake lonely 18/f's.

  • Yes, there is real players. Although, there are some lonely lifeless females.

  • Great game, Love watching these live blitz games!

  • and i said lol that was funny

  • you could just move the knight and not the bishop and the knight forks the king and queen at 5:45

  • Black just takes with the bishop on f8.

  • i enjoy ur videos very much. the commentary of ur blitz games are EXTREMELY helpful for knowing wat to think about during a game. so plz keep up the good work:D

  • shoulda forked bishop and queen on your knight on move 5

  • 5.Ne5 Bxd1 6.Nxd7 Kxd7 7.Kxd1 e6 and White has no advantage, he shouldn't trade too much material too soon.

  • So true. I enjoy your posts and games. I have also tried the polar bear with mixed results as I don't know all the lines as yet and find myself in unfamiliar territory alot. However it does appear to be a good system in capable hands.

  • "Yay, passed pawn with rook behind it!"

    Brilliant!

  • whats your elo?

  • yeh gm hinrik danialson does very well with the polar bear, and its not krakashrak... its krakaskak...

  • "AND I SAID, LAWL"

hahahahahahh!!! i need to try this game im about to play on yahoo

  • Its the birds opening not polar bear system. AMERICANS HAVE TO RENAME EVERYTHING DONT THEY? The birds openning is named after a english player in the 19th century. Also g3 is like a lenigrad dutch with white, a very sharp system.

  • the polar bear system has the bird opening, as an opening and then the rest of the system is a "new system"

  • Henrik Danielsan isn't an american.

  • "He saids why does this game reminds me of checkers? And I said lol" Haha.

  • super video good job keep them comming

  • i love your live analysis. very easy to follow your planning

  • You should probably try to play better players. It seems that you play only patzers. They seem to play moves that only make there position worse. No strong player would play most of the moves your opponent played.

  • This game was played on Yahoo Chess. I now play on FICS.

  • "and i said lol" haha. brilliant.

  • I don't know why this is only 3 stars - I think it still deserves a 5 stars like all your videos.

"and I said 'lol'" 5/5 just for that.

  • I love the polar bear system, very flexible.

  • My favorite lines are the reversed Leningrad Dutch lines where Black puts pawns on d5 and c5. I'm not really comfortable with the lines where Black plays ...Nc6 early (as you can tell in this game).

  • great videos, and I said lawl.

  • and I said "lol" . that was funny

  • Good vid. but as you said the audio is pitiful

  • YEAH POLAR BEAR SYSTEM!!!

  • .O.!!
