The Director actually wanted us to be straight faced until the very end of the song, it made the ending more impacting...I was a baritone/bass in the choir when this was filmed.

horrible camera lol, but I think they did a good job. The notes were well articulated but I also thought that they needed expression while they sang, all I saw were straight faces and open mouths. When my choir sang this song, we did a little side step thing, clapping and grooved to the song. It was really really fun and I don't hear the same thing here.
Well, except the ending. That part was effin awesome!
really good but i wish they'd have more fun with it. our women's choir and chamber choir just sang this as a combined piece and we clapped and snapped and had fun.
i get the feeling that the men are rushing it a little bit. but overall, incredible! we're doing this for our Autumn Concert, women only though. But still it's awesome! :)
We are performin this at one of our concerts at our local First Baptist Church. Awesome song too, because I'm bass and we actually get to sing some high notes!
Amazing choir! This is certainly one of my favorite gospel choir pieces. We are doing this in my choir for a winter concert and the men's features 0:33 and 1:13 are going to be solos!
Really??????So did Mr. Hampton interpret the song the same way???When I accompanied this song for my local Church Music Academy, the guys had a tough time singing their verses the way we did it when I was in All-District in 2007. I'm just curious to know what he did with that part.
uurrmmmm... yeah so this is just what i said about another group singing this, the phrasing is all wonky, it doesn't sound like a gospel song, it sounds too much like you're trying to turn it into some kind of classical song.
Were singing this in my school thier phrases are supposed to be long..thats what the music says to do.And at the end theres supposed to be a power house gospel singer that just wraps it all up =)
LOL! I remember this song! We sang this for districts too... and we sang it horrible but we had so much fun! Lol we just learned the song too.. but once we got it down it turned out great.. but omg I love this song. fun!
this is so cool! my name is jeremy and i am the musician for the UCO Ebony Gospel Choir. I work at the uco jazzlab too. it's good to see you guys give God some Glory own here!!! Jesus is King!
Finally! A version I like :) Great job guys!

Wow, we're doing this for our final concert, and my choir teacher interprets the music way differently. But this is good. (:
