This is what people that have an old laptop do when they dont have a budget to buy a new one. 1 - add more ram or other components that speed it up. 2 - reinstall windows, defragment, clean it up. 3 - Enjoy your laptop working faster and better. I have had my laptop since 2006. I dont think 5 years is such a long time. It works perfectly. I plan on building a new pc next year.
You're crazy if you think a 2006 laptop is that old, and with the price of those PowerBooks, they had better last a long time!
Then again, lots of people do not treat their electronics with enough respect nor care, and end up throwing away money on computers that won't last 2 years.
hey man i have 3 old laptops and a desktop tower and i have a few questions i was wondering if there is a way i could chat with you to ask you a few questions.
1.)my firts question i about my desktop tower, its pretty old but it works the only problem is its realllyy slow, i was wondering if u new how to use a external hard drive as the regular harddrive for the tower. the hard drive is 500 G's and i really wanna run windows 7 off the external hard drive. plz personal mesege me back.. PLZ.lol
If he thinks that's old i have a 1999 Compuwiz Envision that runs DSL Linux, since windows 98se crashed and it wouldn't let me reinstall it, but i use it as a home backup/Ethernet/audio editor computer (with Linux audacity).
Man i use a iBook G4 every day and i think it may be slower thn your powerbook so just reinstall mac os x and it will be fast as before just forget youtube and flash video with the old PPC mac but it stilll a very good laptop and stronger than a macbook because of the aluminium enclosure
Your very lucky to have a macbook and a powerbook at 14 ... a macbook cost 999€ in France ... I think it's too expensive for a computer ... in the us is 999$ ? = 806,193€ so Apple keep not converting well
With that very laptop and a camcorder, you could startup and launch another youtuber. Why not give it to someone who has that inspiration? Don't disregard old hardware just because the new car smell wafted away.
@BrandonTechTalk Its not rude, you don't know how to setup a computer right. Reinstall a older copy os mac os. Then ti will be fast, you slowed it down over the years. Its still a fast computer, just not with all the crap on it. Downgrade to the earlyest mac os x.

save that macbook pro until your old. It wille raise in value :)
btw. I got original, hole new pack of MS DOS with 5.25" Disketts.. (Havn't unbox it, got it from my dad that never used it before be never thought he got MD DOS installed on that time... likte 20 years ago?) XD
