I was at Croppers that year, RT played four of his own songs with Fairport (but not any old RT/Fairport songs), namely this one, Gypsy Love Songs, Galway to Graceland and Nobody's Wedding (the last two as rock songs, not in the folky style they appear in on the albums). Not sure in what order, but those were the four songs he played.
It was definitely the 80s. I was there in 1996 as well and this definitely isn't then. You can tell from the way their dressed and how old they look its the 80s. In 1996 he was promoting the You?Me?Us? album and I think he'd starting wearing the beret.
