no it would not,the air above the window would not go out the window,when u empty a bottle u tilt the bottle so the hole is down,if u have the lid on the bottle and make a hole lower than the lid and then put it underwater with the lid up the bottle will only fill up to the hole,not completly.

What I don't understand, is why he killed himself. He could have easily run out the door and had time to grab the scuba stuff before the water filled the area.
Charlie's death didn't bring the helicopter, Charlie being in that room brought it.

Good cliffhanger, but when I saw Jack's experiences after the island I blamed the series for giving that spoilers and it was sad for him. Jack getting drunk? No way! :(

I've just seen this episode and I'm very upset about Charlie's Death.
First of all: How does Mikhail do to survive with a harpoon in his chest? Why don't nobody check his death over and over again?
Why does he detonate a grenade in his hand?
Why doesn't Charlie close the gate with him OUTSIDE of that hatch?
Those are some questions. Of course, Charlie had to die in the story but the script seemed unlikely with his death.

That dude blew himself up with that grenade... Charlie could have escaped... I mean the water would have went into the main area sure, but he could have swam with Desmond.
Also, Charlie does return next series if you watch the season 4 promo. He wears a black leather jacket and is standing in front of Hurley with short hair.

your an idiot. If you understood why charlie killed himself then you would not be complaining about him not being able to swim out the hole. Obviously he would be able to (anyone could) but charlie wanted to die because desmonds flashback told him that charlie needed to die in order to save clair.

Charlie will be sadly missed but he had 2 sacrafice himself, otherwize he would ov died eventualy because of desmonds visions and he wanted to get claire rescuede. I dont think he'll be back because he left the show because the wrighters were making it up az they went along.

I really belive that Charlie died for nothing. cause it wasn't Penny's boat like they had all thought it was. I know he wanted to be a Hero and all, I respect that, but I honstly believe he died for nothing. I want to smack the writers so hard for that..

This is really sad. Charlie has been a fan favorite since day one. Why's it always the best ones?? (If they even hint at killing Sawyer I swear I will give up on this show...)
What worries me is what the writers will reduce Desmond to now. I mean it was very clear he came to save Charlie because he won't be able to cope with the guilt of letting him die. How will he face Claire?

This scene makes absolutely no sense, the window is under the roof, and therefore the room wouldnt be flooded. Just put a glass upside-down in a bath... so technically he wouldnt die from that
