  • @mylovesofmylife did u smoke and drink thru ur pregnancy? do you go against any medical advice your given when it comes to the health of your child? so wat...yeah it may be healthy for your child but the risk of botulism surely would outweigh any health benefits of your child by feeding it honey? if i had a child and new something could possibly risk their health i wouldnt just go ahead and give it to them anyway just to prove to the world that your baby is ok..im glad ur baby is ok but ur wrong

  • My baby has always eaten healthy honey with breakfast, Im doing her good, because with all healthy things I give her I give it to her in moderation and not huge amounts. She is healthy because I give her some honey in her diet. Not alot. She is a year old now. She has some honey with warm milk now, eats baby yoghurts, oats and peaches for breakfast, tuna sandwhich, vegemite sandwhich, nutella or peanut paste sandwhich for lunch with crusts cut off. Heinz baby dinners. Kiwi/V-8 juice.

  • simpledawn I have to say your right, other issues can Botulism, without honey being the cause for it. I feed my baby of 10 months honey and she will not get sick form it, she has eaten it for ages now and it does not harm her it, its very healthy for along with the vitamin c in kiwi juice she gets, her immunity is good because she eats healthy foods like honey and drinks healthy drinks like kiwi juice.

  • I am sorry to inform you that feeding infants honey does increase the risk of botulism as it is know to contain active clostridium botulinum bacterial spores! Please do not feed honey to your baby!

  • Honey is not good for babies look it up you might be harming your baby

  • As a nurse I would like to remind all parents that the most important way to prevent botulism in infants is to NEVER EVER give them honey! Glad your daughter is ok.

  • Most babies that get Botulism in the US today do not get it from honey. My daughter was exclusively breastfed when she contracted Botulism. She got it from dirt that had been disturbed and gotten into her mouth (most likely blowing around, as she hadn't been playing in it).

I suggest you research real risks before making blanket statements.

  • @cynthiazinn my Baby who I fed Honey is about to turn 2 on July 22nd 2010. The Honey I gave her as a baby never harmed her, because I knew honey would not effect my own infant Daughter. Since my Daughter was not like every other baby, She was not going to get sick from honey as a baby, where some babies could not eat honey because it made them sick.

  • omg what was wrong with her

  • she had infantile botulism, a paralytic toxin. She is fully recovered now and about to turn 3.
