A lot of you seem to think that cuz the car cost so much, that it should be faster than cars cheaper than it, ie the GTR35. The LFA is roughly 95% built in house, GTR35 is not. Cuz the LFA was built primarily in house, designing it's own braking & suspension system (built by outside source), building it's own engine ground up with no outside help, same for the tranny, carbon body hand built, this all drives up total cost. Thus, Toyota is getting no profit cuz the car should be priced higher.

Yamaha engineers work with Toyota engineers and vise versa, which is why Yamaha has had a hand in the the 2UR-GSE motor, the 2ZZ-GE, and 3S-GE motors. I believe there's a couple more others that they colaborated on. Design wasn't just Yamaha, but Toyota too, Yamaha escentially asembled the engine based on Toyota's specs and guidlines. Yamaha still had a large roll though in tune as well as Toyota F1 engineers.

I see in an interview on Lexus Enthusiast test driver Akira Iida said that he left 2-3 seconds and he believed the ultimate lap time for the NE LFA is in the 7.11-7.12 range and apparently there could be another attempt later on this year.
the ACR its a crap for me, old OHV engine, thats the past, it is reliable, but is not for racing application, this car is fast because it is a big engine in a light car with a good aerodynamic, but the engine its a crap, by the other hand the lfa its a great engineer masterpiece
the downforce is improved by the new body kit, and by the rear spoiler, elsewhere this one has semi-slick tyres, almost like a real race car, thats a big difference, not only the little increase of power, and the weight savings, besides the diference could be the driver too

With the sport cup tires and the right driver it could probably lap the ring faster than an acr but that an if situation so who knows. @rforracing If everyone made a version specifically for attacking the Nurburgring would the LFA still be as high on the list as it is? Doubt it lol. I struggle to be impressed with a 400k car that was built and tuned with one track in mind and still doesn't hold the record at it. Running behind a car that isn't even in production any longer.

@iPROFITDON LF-A has more technology, features and gadgets which other cars faster than it on the Nurburgring dont have.
Im talking about the nav system, audio system, powered windows, A/C, heater, etc.

@rforracing The only thing it has that the ACR doesn't is a Nav system, can't say the same for the GT2RS. It's an amazing car, but for 400k and built at the track, it should be at the top.

@iPROFITDON Keep in mind this car was not built from to ground up to lap the nurburgring, it was a variant of an already existing car so it had to have the same engine, chassis, ect. With the sport cup tires and the right driver it could probably lap the ring faster than an acr but that an if situation so who knows. Personally if I had the money, I would give up the extra 2 seconds over 7 miles and pay an extra 300k for that interior lol

I'm not basing my "argument" on the name of the car, I'm basing it on where the car was tuned and developed.
I understand the LFA will be quite a bit faster with cup tires like the Vette, Viper, Porsche, BMW, Audi, etc use. I can get into the difference between cup tires and racing tires if you wish. Starting with the tred pattern, going through sidewall construction, and ending with compound.
Notice the lack of big spoiler and spliter on the Vette :}

@trinoma88 No. Lol. If the Corvette did a package for this track, it would kill your over-priced LFA Nurburg package. The LFA (the normal one) makes 7:38 on the track. That's really fucking sad considering it's 400,000. It doesn't even touch a 458 Italia or Zonda, which are WAY slower than a 75,000 Corvette Z06.

@ssj04 LFA is a great car.. the ZR1 is also up there on the list of the fastest most desirable supercars.. this isn't a mistake, ZR1 is there for a reason.. handling was always complimented, and in 90% of the comparison tests that it was in, it had the highest marks, including practicality, fun-to-drive factor, handling, and desirability. and ZR1 also produces fast lap-times on a variety of tracks... the LFA is fast, so is the ZR1, neither is a crap car, numbers don't lie...

@superchargedwhine1 they aren't the best supercars out there performance wise, but as an all around supercar, they're great, and it's all a matter of preference.. just trying to get this straight, just in case.. they have one of the most capable engines, especially being able to cope with twin 88mm turbos, due to their sheer displacement, and this is coming from a guy who is crazy about straight 6 single turbo power.. but once again, vipers aren't at the top of the competition..

Of course the Rollcage was added you do realise the Nurburgring is one of the most dangerous tracks in the world.Safety comes first especially as it was the official release day and NE LFA owners who had'nt done laps around the place before were driving this car also.
