Box jelly fish are more toxic, Phylobitaes terribiles are considered the most toxic vertebrate on the planet. But the Dendrobatidae family (poison dart frogs like this one) are not poisonous if they are raised in captivity. It is actually their diet of a specific beetle from the Melyridae family that allows them to produce the toxin.

while for most of the dendro family this statement is true, the terribiles actually can create some of theyre own toxins, maybe why in the wild they seem to be much more toxic then the rest of the family. but even in captivity, the terribilis will create toxins.  and contact from this frog(even in captivity) with any open cuts or scrapes will deffinatly have an effect. maybe not as strong as in the wild, but my arm has been numb for a while after contact with a small scrape.
