This is a great, great scene....one of the best in the movie. This shows what kind of a man and person Gosling's character really is. The old man said virtually nothing....but you can tell how much he appreciated what had just been done for him. I thought this movie's realism and honesty was fantastic.

@lavellove1 Thats true people are instinctually selfish and I disagree with ppl who say love exists. There are compromises and understandings. People settle for someone they can stand for the rest of their lives no soulmate shit. The key idea is to find someone u dont hate. Thats why i agree with michelles character leaving gosling. I understand that she was depressed with him and no one wants a man who is not moving forward in life with no aspirations. I am a man btw so my opinion is unbiased.
