@acm4bass Yes, Cobra Commander died, Destro killed him. As for the Joe's, I think there was 1 who died, can't remember who though. I was a huge G.I.Joe fan when I was a kid.
neeto , not my bag, i would be interested in a realistic millitary equipment ( real guns, real body armour) but in like a horror setting (kinda like aliens)
I was a big G.I. JOE fan as well when I was a kid. I remember when I was in the states visiting my cousins and I bought (well my parents bought hehe) my first action figure, Snake-eyes! :)
Was that a copy of Swashbucklers of the 7 Skies on the table? I can't remember, Kurt, did you review that one already? Because I was thinking about picking it up and would be curious to know what you thought.
Greetings, folks. I want to assure everyone that we at DriveThruRPG have -no- input on these reviews what-so-ever. Kurt lets us know what products he'd like to review from our catalog. We contact the publisher to make sure they are good with it (every single one of them has been so far, due to the credibility and exposure these guys have created for themselves). We then hook up Kurt with the product and the coupon code. The rest is entirely up to the Game Geeks crew.
We have been doing the show for around 9 years, 2.5 on-line. We put the show together because Kurt loves games and is willing to host, I created / produced GG because Kurt's my friend and he's a great host.. Due to growing viewership and subscribers we have been asked if we would like sponsors, I was on the verge of canceling the show due to time needed to produce a weekly show but thanks to the support the show continues.
I can assure you they are not "shilling." Kurt makes all decisions, including which products he wishes to review. We're just paying for some PR exposure, which helps them keep this running. Such productions are not cheap to do and can be a real drain on folks and their families after a while, and we think it would be a terrible shame to lose this fantastic resource for the gaming community.
That is cool, just expressing an apparently unpopular opinion. I've liked Kurt's reviews, not trying to tear you guys apart or anything. Just sharing my opinion. I appreciate your reviews, even went out and bought a few things because of them. I'm all about game community support.
Would this be good or appropriate for an espionage or spy campaign?

Did anyone ever die in GI joe?
acm4bass 2 years ago
In the new miniseries released on Cartoon Network GI Joe Resolute quite a few people died and it was a lot more violent than the original cartoon.

well, Modern Ops (next week) plus the Horror toolkits may be useful.

Mom said no war toys for me.
Of course, I became a wargamer and a military history nut.

Great review as usual Kurt but is there something wrong with your mic? There seems to be a lot of distortion.

That is a copy-we filmed it in this set.
Short answer: Really good game if you like rules-light, swashbuckling fantasy setting. Good use of PDQ and an interesting magic system.

For 1980s cartoons, I would use "Cartoon Action Hour: Season 2"

What do you mean sponsored, did they pay you to do a review of the product or did they give you a free product and ask you to review it?
BloodyTomMorgan 2 years ago
@BloodyTomMorgan
I am guessing that it is the Free Product for the review...
as far as I have found out, he does this all for free because it is something he loves....

@pugknowspro nooooo...please do not cancel the series, I enjoy watching the review and seeing if I want to buy the books.

It's good that it's a fictionalized version, otherwise the members of GI Joe would sue ;)
Imbalance isn't ALWAYS an issue, depending on the group...
As for this being a sponsored show, if it allows them to keep going without breaking the bank, OK.

Sorry you feel that way. We're quite excited about the sponsorship, and it hasn't changed review content one bit.
