Eisenhower helped the Russians ram a terrible treaty down the throat of Austria. Then he glorified the treaty to the American people as some great big coup for the west. This victory was also credited to the generosity of the Russians and a new spirit of goodwill. Eisenhower insisted on immediate ratification of the treaty by Congress, and drove it through using White House pressure.

Socialism teaches us not to work harder and makes us depends on the

government. If the government can give you a lot of privileges, it can

also dictate you, marginalize what you can do and even take away

those privileges that they have given you if you fail to obey their rules.

when in fact, its not even free, because the cost of commodities

and taxes goes higher.

The parents fails to educate their kids at home, it's not the fault of the school system.

Third World countries has 40 students with 1 teacher in elementary grades and they

are very diligent to finish college eventhough they are poor. American kids are spoiled

and their parents don't take time to educate them at home, wether for school assignments or good attitude.

Problem with the apostle vs. prophet argument. #1 this talk was not given in a church meeting, so it's irrelevant, #2 the President of the Church will never talk about politics, other than "vote for good people, support good laws and be involved", so of course he never gave this talk as President, #3 it's true what he's saying no matter what his title was when he said it. Many others, LDS and non-LDS have been saying the same things for years. Study it out for yourself.

You know what astonishes me is people actually praise socialism here in america. College studnts want Universal healthcare which is a HUGE mistake! Its been proven that socialism is not the right way to go, just look at Europe for crying out loud!! I am EXTREMELY worried about the next four years for America. Yet from the European perspective we look at America in aghast (in particular respects). The U.S. system of healthcare is a joke. Socialism has not been proven to be the way NOT to go. I am worried that the UK is further mimicking the United States system. We already have an income divide as bad as that in the States. I really do not understand what American's have to fear from a welfare state. Very very few people in Britain would wish to have it the American way.

What I do not undertsand is how people just cannoy see whats happening here in America. Ezra is right on the money! I am not Mormon, but I am of the Irish Roman Catholic faith and what is going on has not only divided many in the Mormon faith, but also in mine and all the Christian faith's.
