In the NFL, the only way to ASSURE that you win is to play a close to perfect game, which the 49ers did not, ESPECIALLY on offense. If you don't play a flawless game, you are always two big plays from losing. That fumble would have meant nothing if the 49ers would have just scored a touchdown on their first overtime drive.

@MichRockHop81108 mattew stafford who? alex smith the catch 3 the fans learn from there coach and teammates. the lions have bad sportsmanship. we beat the saints and made history, but the saints ran over the lions they humiliated them, not once but twice. not to mention how we sent the loins ass on a downward spiral. they went for being 6-0 to 6-1, 6-2 ,6-3, they won one game then went to 7-4, 7-5, and then they got some balls and won 3 straight and lost the last 2.

He cant pass even slightly and when gore doesnt pick up big yards on first down they just stall and it's hilarious. Matt Stafford had huge numbers this year, how were Alex Smiths? @MichRockHop81108 How are we not good at football? Have you watched the Niners play through the 80's and 90's? 5 Super bowl wins is more than what detroit has under they're belt. I agree that Alex Smith is far from great, and we can do without Willis. However our defense is rated one of the best in the NFL and the offense has proven well given the QB can get the ball to them effectively (which is where we have been hurting) I think we'll be back next year and even stronger.

@thateguhate these arent the 80s and 90s. Alex Smith was booed in Candlestick a year ago. I think if he won this super bowl hed be able to come back and be good but I dont think they'll come out very good next year. I was completely in awe of how they even made it as far as they did. I dont like them and I dont like how their fans just expect them to be good again now. especially after they wer booed and then just suddely hav a good season. dont see the consistency yet.

@MichRockHop81108 Alex Smith has been boo'd at games because his level of consistancy is not there. He rocked the Saints and blew it against the NY Giants. His ratio's are all over the place. I never once commended Alex Smith, I however think we have a hell of a team despite his averages. All these years we didn't have pass coverage and now we do and he is still learning what to do with it. If we picked up a QB that could we would be pretty damn raw.
