It's a known fact that the tobacco companies slip some money under the tables to have their product promoted, let's say, in a "subliminal" way in movies and other media, but that was too "In your face".

There was even funny moments because of it, like when the guy lights one and the girl says "Uhm... That smells good". And when he says "I don't trust superior officers who don't smoke" XD

@NameIsNew This film has a hidden background story in it as well. They leave clues throughout the film and even in the Wii video game to help you out if you played the Wii. To me the film was brilliant. Not many relaly understand it fully, some understand the main point of the film but there is so much more in it not told to the viewer in plain sight.

I have watched 2 weeks of anime in total and I absolutely love it, and so I watched this movie like a month ago. I will actually not recommend it, I'm not even happy I've watched it really. It's like "Beyond the clouds" - the visuals are some what beautiful but it really gets quite boring eventually (and trust me, I've seen from A to Å) so well, I will rather suggest "The girl who leapt through time", "The grave of the fireflies", "Steamboy" and such, but we all got different opinions! c :

The main character, Yuichi, starts to notice patterns in his life, especially when he can't seem to remember anything about his past, and seeing familiarity in everything he sees around him. Basically, it's about deja vu, and how to break the cycle.

Decent film however my complaints are that the characters are boring and somewhat depressing even for war time level crack a smile seriously :) that one in trailer doesn't could though, they seem to smoke literally none stop lol but then i guess most ww2 era pilots did so..., and the plot could have been worked on abit more, other than that I say the fights are literallly amazing and it does kinda give the war time depression feeling

Ok the action sequences were great but then after that ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ the characters are soooooo boring. I know you have to listen or in this case read the subtitles to understand the story but then the characters are too boring for one to have interest in it.

Since now the aircraft blend well with the beautifully done backgrounds rather than being slightly less well drawn motion in a beautiful backdrop, which also clashes with many films and makes them less visually appealing without CGI.

When I saw the English trailer I thought it looked like crap, then one night I found the movie online and thought "meh, worth a shot."
