You can use a ceramic iron to curl. I have FHI for $100, I have no complaints.. They have a website that you check out.

FHI's are great but they break easily. Get a CHI. Mucho better. They don't break as easily, but if you drop several times, it will stop :[ FHI's are more fragile

What I seen tell me she wasn't a pro. She had trouble working with the curling iron, plus you never put a curling iron that close to the scape. The first curl was a mess.

Well, if she want it close to the root, get a small comb, COMB, not brush, and place it at the roots. Then take the iron, go to the very end or tip, curl in until it hits the comb. Then take it out, and let it sit while you do the others.

Ok, first of all when you curl hair, you don't leave it that long on the very tip of her root. Then she actually, laid the curl on the woman's hair. What if it burned her? She would sue for damaging her scalp. Also, it's too close to the root, and it would end up being to big, when finshing the curl. It would look puffy and large. Omg like a RS boy's hair. Ugh! I have use a curling iron myself (and I have burn myself a lot in the beginning but my hands and the hair) and in my experience I would never rest it in my head. Those things can get really HOT (It's like a Flat iron without plastic protectors) so can burn yourself in instants. The girl in the video has no problem because she has thick hair, so is a lot of hair between the iron and the scalp, but if the same has been done in an under layer surely had been different.

No, it should not burn your head, nor hair.

You're not supposed to hold it for too long (just a few quick seconds) and I don't recommend setting the iron on a temperature that is too high.

It looks like a Chi Turbo iron, but I could be mistaken.
