same happens to me, when time hits about 50 seconds (i think) the volcano start to shake, then around 1:05 (again i think) it will start to sink and if you are far enough on lap 3 it will drop u b4 finish line (in simple terms DO IT FASTER)

@Superluigi821 Just saying, people on wifi do that already. Just about a third of the other racers do that. BE WARNED if a hacker is online, and if you are on grumble volcano, they will attempt to stop you from doing the shortcut. Just some advice!

Hold accelerate + brake at the same time, then once there are blue sparks release brake to get the mini boost. For Gamecube controllers use: A + B and for the Wii Remote it should be 2+B.

When you are STOPPED, hold the 1 AND 2 buttons at the same time on the Wii Wheel or the A AND B buttons on the Wiimote/Nunchuck, Classic Controller and GCN Controller, and you will see blue sparks. When you see them, release the 1/B button and KEEP HOLDING 2/A, and you will get a Mini-Turbo boost. Hope this helps!

well i've played on the wi-fi a fair amount of time and i've never seen anyone use this but yet i've played against losers who have records of 9999 who basically are impossible so the way i see it its just evening it up a little bit

Well I hate how when I am trying to get a good ranking, and someone is almost just as good as me, they just use the no-mushroom glitch on it, and they easily do it.

I do it, when other people do it. In fact, if people are good in a race, you can automatically assume that they will A+B the other direction. Usually I just dont get a boost on go, and see if at least 1 person turns the other direction and tries that shortcut, and I follow them. But, suprisingly most of them never miss when they do it.

I got on the platform 3 times. Only once did the lap count go off (1 lap) out of the 3 times I got on the platform. I spent like an hour doing this before I gave up... does any body have any usefull tips i am trying to get the spear bike and need 4 more fast staff ghosts

i havent tried this shortcut, and i've unlocked all the characters. just practice it's not that hard to unlock all the expert staff ghosts. the hardest one for me was shy guy beach.

just go to my channels page, i posted a good tutorial on how to do it :P its kinda fast but just watch it over and over like 2 or 3 times and you should get it
