  • Time to write more material... It's 2010 - there is a need for more epic tracks like La Dusseldorf and Simple Minds wrote....

  • was at this gig..like my own footage the sound here dosen;t do the gig justice..stand back mr kerr and bow to the musicians of your OLD group..no-no to you to still live on their glories!!

  • @WillCrazie As much as I like XSM, they're the ones living on the glories of Simple Minds, not the other way round.

  • @theredraven no,not true,,,,the two ex minds members in this clip actually WROTE this song,as they did very much everything upto the time they left,so in essence it is Mr>Kerr who is livin off them.If JK was easier to get along with then maybe the band would not have fractured

  • @WillCrazie Or DF (who is the best bass player in the world) could have turned up to practice? That's the reason he was fired. Mick left of his own accord.

  • @WillCrazie

they wrote for sure this one, but not everything ,anyway there is a song in their last album (SM I mean ) which really sounds as true Simple Minds, it's a cover , the sound has something, as if Derek Forbes was there : "let the day begin" , it's incredible how it sounds back as in the old good days...

  • Simple Minds ceased to be of interest to me when DF no longer signed off on anything. Why sell a Wal though :)

  • if you're a fan of Dan, then PLEASE become a fan of Derek Forbes and Brian McGee - ex Simple Minds, on their facebook page - spread the word!!!

YouTube will not allow me to post a link but ... heres a clue! :)))

  • Nothing wrong with that AT ALL. It's actually the closest live version I've heard to the original. This track is all about the bass line and when the bass is given precedence in the mix over the other instruments, Theme For Great Cities comes alive like no other instrumental.

  • @charliechutney - here-here

  • Mick macNeil, was Simple Minds

  • very distorted record, but magnificent performance :)

  • Excellent. The heart and soul of Simple Minds.

  • Gon yersel Mick n Derek :D:D:D Yassssssssssss!!!

  • LOVE SIMPLE MINDS... but they never been the same after mick left the band..

    so sad..

    hi's a PURE AND REAL GENIUS !!

goodluck "four good men" !.. hope one day to see tyu in italy !

  • what a pity!you are great and 4 me you are always SIMPLE MINDS!!

  • when I'm rich I'm going to take two Ecstasy tabs and hire this band to play this song at my wedding.

  • Love this version even if the recordings not the best, Mick always had depth in his sound playing live, the guys a genius. The bass is so in your face too!

  • Great music.. Love the FourGoodMen.. Can't wait to hear more from them.

  • Forbes ... you are outta control, blessed be my thoughts tonight1

  • Thanks for posting this lovely song, wich by the way happens to be my Simple minds favourite one, the sound is not that proper ,it does not justice ,but thanks .

  • Yes, Ok. Superb rhythm section but this recording is shite. Please do this phenomenal tune some justice.

  • Simple Minds, sadly, lost their way when these two boys wne their ways.

  • @patsywatsywoowoo

Yep... Simple Minds lost 3 of the biggest drivers the sound of then will never return but will never be forgetten... Good music is timeless... Derek Forbes, Michael Macneil and Brian Mcgee

    ... Sad but true...

  • Mick owns this - I want it played at my funeral!

  • esos Simples. A ver cuando volveis a Valencia.

  • absolute magic, i love this song and yes forbes/macneil are the best at there craft.

  • Nice to hear an 1981 "Simple Minds" tune in this way. The Simple Mindss were way ahead of their time

  • Forbes and MacNeill are the greatest keys/bass team of all time. It sounds like a tidal wave...not that I've heard one mind!!!

  • they sound great...great tune from their greatest album EVER

  • Waw ! Forbes the Great is back on the frontline !!

    Jesus ! What a powerfull set !

  • My it is so good to see Derek playing some SM riffs again ;-)

  • Great clip Mags - I thought they did a superb performance too! See you soon best wishes Andrea x
