Okay... so they deleted the video of that performance, Max Q's arrangement of Somewhere was my favorite song ever. You think you could tag the whole thing? That would be so cool.
I have transcribed this tag on Finale. The rhythm isn't exactly the same, but provides all the notes so you can embellish yourself. If anyone wants it, just email me here and I'll send it to you! :-)
I keep coming back and enjoy your work each time. Here's a question. Why is it so hard to hear the baritone in most arrangements - and is that why I was always asked to sing baritone?
LOL...thanks! The baritone part is often referred to as the "garbage" part, because it usually fills in the harmony gaps between the other parts. However, it is probably the hardest part to sing because, like you said, its the hardest part to hear (sing), because a lot of times it doesn't make sense. But trust me, without it, it would sound horrible. Saying all of that, the baritone part also has some pretty cool parts too. Consider it a compliment that you sing baritone. It's the hardest!
Yeah. That's what I tell myself. On the other hand, I'm usually the one trying to organize the quartet and no one else want's it! I probably am a natural baritone - in church I am always jumping between tenor and bass - if both are in my range, I sing the one that's more fun. And I'm lucky to be in a church with lots of good singers, so its neat to be able to hear all four parts from within the pews.
The baritone part fills the chord, which means that it jumps around. The bass spends time on the root, with the tenor on the third, or a third above harmony.
The baritone doe F-all, almost randomly. It's the hardest to hear, and probably hardest to sing.
BUT.
Baritone is the most awesome part, and being asked to sing Baritone means that they think you're the singer who can sing the hardest part.
I use a video editing sofware called Ulead VideoStudio 11. I can import .avi, mpeg, wmv, etc...pretty much everything. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
Yes, BLENDING with yourself is easy. But singing the right notes is not--especially if you're singing in a vaccuum and don't have other singers to navigate by. Which is how most barbershop tags start.
SWEET!!!!!!! You should try I Am if you can hit the high Ab... I don't know what the official note is but I hear most people take the lead to an Ab, maybe A.
This was awesome!

wow! most impressive. tuning with yourself is not easily done. keep the barbershop tags alive, man.
t1e1rry 3 years ago
wait how is tuning with your self not easy?
im pretty sure its easier to match the tone of your voice with the tone of your own voice(rather than with some one else).
