Sponge tip applicators are the best for packing very light and poorly pigmented eye shadow on your lids, so I'm surely not going to burn mine. I'm 100% sure you can't do the same thing with your fingers.

Srsly WHO uses sponge tip applicators!?!?!?they collect oil and bacteria, they're stubby and far from glamorous. They don't deposit/blend color correctly, and the sponge tips always come off the stupid little plastic handles!!! Sponges are for doin dishes, brushes are meant for doing makeup.
