The least they could do is release an English version of FM5 after they dumped that half-assed piece of crap on us. (I'm looking at you Evolved.) Even though it would be for PS2.
I've always HATED Japanese voice acting. They create characters that you KNOW wouldn't even remotely sound like that, like how all women in Japanese games and anime sound exactly the same. They have no verbal diversity.
As a game, FM5 flatout kills all of them except FM2 in strategic depth(which is what FM5 is based off of gameplay-wise). FM 1st is good nostalgia and for starting the series, but that's it really. Otherwise, FM5 is the peak of the series and the majority of long-time fans(Japanese mostly with some importers) agree.
Well, guess I had to clear it is just my opinion. To me, FM4 is plain boring. Story makes no sense, the game is too easy and the voice-overs with accents just suck. But again, it's just my view of the game, I may be wrong.
Nah, you're not wrong on why you didn't find FM4 much of a great game. A good number of others felt the same way, myself included. Of course, having played and beaten 5, 4 is truly a second rate effort in comparison. No offense to those who liked 4, but playing 5 makes it VERY hard to go back to 4's vastly inferior gameplay.
The plot's strength depends on how you view it. As a standalone, it's definitely interesting in its own right. However, if you have played the previous 4 games(esp. 1 and 2), it'll help understand some of the bigger points of the plot. In other words, it really pays to know what happened in those games since their loose ends are tied up in 5.
It's one of those "play this first to understand the whole plot" things I was saying. There's the same amount of missions to play(more if you add mission branching). There's a lot more equipment and they aren't merely carbon copies of what was seen in say FM4.
I would just like to say that be grateful any of you people got to even see part 4 never mind 5! In the dump that is U.K we never saw anything past front mission 3!Front mission 3 was great but Square soft never released the sequels over here....the sick farts!
