sometimes i like hearing what other ppl say ....

    coz too boring

  • This got my wife's seal of approval, which is no mean feat

  • What an amazing video! I have a hundred Chinese friends, most everything seems so true. This video is very insightful, and put together very very well. The list of contradictions at the end have given me intense headaches dealing with my Chinese friends over the years. Glad to know those contradictions are real and I am not crazy. The graphics were helpful and funny. Awesome video!

  • Mistake at 8:17?

  • Great video. One tip though: the narration starts great but then towards the middle a heavy accent kicks in and I couldn't understand half of what's being said. Had to rewind and watch some parts several times. Maybe captions in english would help.

  • @tasmanfist Do you even do your own research? Use wikipedia or go look up the history of inventions. I never wish any ethic group to suffer the result of war. It's a terrible thought you have there.

  • @tasmanfist fxxk u ! especially you are a Chinese

  • @tasmanfist Are you another one of those angry Taiwanese people? I always see plenty of angry Taiwanese haters on YouTube.

  • @tasmanfist

superficially this guy seem from australia

why dont u say usa not been to moon 2

  • Same style video about Japan would be nice

  • @SKYia

nanjing massacre by japan ,killed millions chinese

(brutally kill: chop head or live ppl put in big hole ,then input earth

,in NE china, use toxic, chemicl also say for human experiment, live frozen or burning to test human limit, toxic bomb still now buried in some NE area)

they still not admit or say that for asia prosperity , hide from school text book

    still worship that military shrine,

    german swiss compensated jews

france passed bill that former turkey killed millions armenian

  • Printing ?

  • i love China!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Does anyone know what software was used to create this animation?

  • i saw the flag of ROC... haha

  • @lenyado That's not ROC, that's Cambodia, looks similar to ROC's flag

  • @lenyado

I saw the flag of ROC too but that's normal because it says at the beginning that this is about the PRC instead of ROC.

  • i love CHINA

  • Found the video interesting.

Was insulted that they include the North Korean flag but not South Korea's... Subliminal messages much?

  • ENO JIN 。

  • This is cool!

  • <3 I love CHINA!

  • Lol at you scratch my back and ill scratch yours

Equality along with poorness is still better than prosperity along with rich-poor division. The change of Middle East is bad now, but beneficail after long period, e.g. 100 years.

  • @dasdadfasdasd I always see Taiwanese people saying this over and over like somehow non-Taiwanese people will start caring if they say it enough. In America, few people even know what Taiwan is, let alone care about its political status in relation to China. Imagine if I said "Ethiopia is not a part of Eritrea". Do you know these countries? Do you care about their political disputes? Do you care at all? Of course not.

  • The background music chosen for this clip was composed by a Japanese musician (Ryuichi Sakamoto) for a movie made about China (The Last Emperor) by an Italian film-maker (Bertolucci). Kind of the opposite of Memoirs of a Geisha.

  • As a chinese, I feel very helpless with my country

  • Great Effect

  • Have to point out that Confucianism is not a religion! It is more like philosophy.

  • if you r a foreigner in china, you will find that most Chinese treat foreigners very kind... it is different that our Chinese stay in other countries especially western countries, they judge us in different ways because of our stupid CCP & Government~

  • @GCDDSB

  • Living in San Francisco has made me cautious of the Chinese, who make up a lot of the population here. I agree with the "often appear unmannered" statement made in this video. I dislike when older Chinese people push people on the bus without saying excuse me. Though, this seems to be more of a problem with the older generation.

  • @phubans i noticed that when i went to china too. i guess it might appear rude and uncouth for the western people but it is mainly because they are used to doing that and that's just the way they are brought up. imagine competing with 1.6billion people everyday over about 1/2 the size of US (chinese arable land). haha. it gets annoying though up to a point i just can't empathize anymore

  • As a Chinese, Believe me that all the video says is quite true.

  • not exactly but quite ture

  • Change the Thumbnail and you will get millions of extra views! (BTW, complete the description and use specific keywords). This video must be watched and founded :-)

    Great job!

  • @335Nelson better than those invaders

  • @335Nelson probably dont know anything about the communist party

  • This video was created by Eno Jin.

For much of the content on culture and society, he adapted "Chinese Culture 101", an eight-part series on Randomwire. (Search "Randomwire 101" to find the articles.)

Point your thumb upwards and let others know who created this!

  • GOOD JOB!

  • I think is really really really good !!!!!!!! why do people give such negative criticisms ???? you try and make something like that before complaining about others ' work !!!!

  • this video descripes exactly information about China.

  • wats wrong wit u ppl? taiwan, hk, china etc black, white, asian...doesn't really matter! stop arguing and criticizing! no1 giv a shit at the end of the day! time wasting...just enjoy the show or trun it offf

  • @pigletpoohutube they are all called "china" ok? they share the same culture. they are the same ethnic group. it's way different than us and canada. bad analogy. i'll give u a tip: if u don't read, or do not know a lot about things, just do not comment on things u don't know, that way people won't notice that ur actually clueless.

  • @frederick036 The thing is, there are not only "ethnic Chinese" living on Taiwan...and what the governments tell to the world, is not necessarily the thing the people think here in Taiwan.

  • @frederick036they share the same culture. aha. so North Korea and South Korea...theyre the same country to you too eh? EVEN THEIR NAMES ARE ALIKE -SURPRISING-

btw, before advising someone else, you should follow your own TIP yourself.

  • @frederick036they OHHHHHHH. and i bet, you have NEVER set a foot in Taiwan before eh.

  • @pigletpoohutube What are you talking about? America and Canada didn't share the same histories a few hundred years ago. They weren't even colonized by the same countries. You might as well compare America and Mexico. The relationship between China and Taiwan is similar to that between North and South Korea or North and South Vietnam. Separate in politics but similar in ethnicities. Even their names, PRC and ROC both have "China" in them, like the above two comparisons.

  • Great video and very accessible. Just one criticism, there are more speakers of Wu languages (Shanghainese etc.) than Yue languages (Cantonese etc.)

  • The fact is most of Chinese are SURVIVING instead of LIVING in their country. However, Taiwan is the serious Chinese historical issues after China's civil war. There must be another war if Taiwan-government claim they their independence offically.

  • Taiwan is not part of China

    China not a country

  • @tomnet825 the video is about the chinese people, the way they live, act ,etc. it applies to people from taiwan.

  • Comment removed

  • @frederick036

Shut up! You're just talking nonsense

  • @tomnet825 Taiwan = Republic of China, so still China, actually Taiwanese should treat the mainland as part of Republic of China too, although occupied by the vicious communists lol

  • @GreatKeny I've heard this argument before and it makes me laugh. If the Taiwanese want to assert their independence, they should refrain from making arguments so ludicrous that their other arguments are dismissed or ignored. Imagine if I said "there is life on other planets" (a rational argument) but then followed it with "because the universe orbits around the Earth". You'd stop listening to me right there.

  • @tomnet825 Taiwan is a name of an island, Republic of China is a country, AND, they are all ethnic Chinese

  • @tomnet825 China is not a country?

    Lolol

If that helps you sleep better at night, ok.

I accept the first part. Taiwan is not, in fact, a part of China. But the second part makes the entire argument look stupid. Refrain from that if you're trying to look rational. That kind of argument might work in Taiwan, where people agree, but in the rest of the world, it sounds beyond ridiculous.

  • Facefacefaceface,hahahahahhahahahahaha~~~~~~~

  • I was really upset about one point. it seems like Taiwan is considered a part of China in other foreigners thought. it a nice video though~

  • its concise yet informative. it ignores the chinese civil war which literally split the Mainland and Taiwan

  • @kmwang405 There were a lot of civil wars that seperated "China" in the history

  • Still prefer Japan

  • @jvkstudios Yea, you can to 10min and you know about Japan to say this shit.

  • The narration / voiceover of this video is a complete rip-off of a series of articles I wrote in 2009 called "Chinese Culture 101" - I guess I shouldn't expect anything less from China.

  • Comment removed

  • @beyondzero the accent or the facts?

  • @JustD3fy the words he is reading are from an article I wrote. See randomwire

    dotcom slash what-is-china-video-rip-off

  • In World War II, when Germany was causing so much sufferings, the world raised up to stop the cruelties.

Now days, they prefer not to see.

It must be said that this is also convenient to them, China is the nation that provides the slaves of the new millennium.

The Jews were not so "exploitable", 'cause they thought. And thinking slaves are dangerous.

As chinese have not an individual mind, they're perfect.

  • @AriodanteITA When the US was developing, it also used slaves. When the UK was developing, it also used slaves (they called it colonization). So it is just the rule of Capitalism. Don't blame China, blame Capitalism. And China will become better once it is developed, just like the US gave the slaves freedom after it became the No 1 nation.

  • @GreatKeny Those slaves had to fight that freedom the Majority hasn't given them nothing! You can't just simplify history like that. It took advance technology, slave rebillions, riots, & internal wars. Capitalism is the reason why the communist government hasn't been overthrown because the Chinese are comfortable & I don't blame them because they at least have it better than your slave comparisons lol.

  • omg!!! this is hilariously TRUE!!!

cant believe hes able to capture of china in just 10 min !

  • charcters.

  • Who made this video?

  • PRC doesn't include Taiwan.

  • @archyaloha

    You said it

  • Amazing!

  • LOL at mainland China. :)

  • both sides of china.

    good work!

that's what china is now! this movie maker is just awesome!

  • niubility(that's a chinese english word...google if u wanna what it means:)

  • @xuruiqiangxixi this dude doesn't sound chinese at all...

  • I think the difference is that in China these days people are allowed to do more or less what they want economically if not politically. Who needs political freedom when the govt provides for most of its citizens? Question is what happens when times get tough? In US, we "vote the bums out" and get new leadership (FDR, Reagan, Obama, etc). Can't do that in China. Curious to see how richer, more free Chinese respond to crisis. Sooner or later, China will need more democracy. 关系 just won't cut it.

  • hahaahahahahah all the taiwan and HK problems . all u looser

  • ahaha. Funny, you have the same arguments of the Russians at the time of the Berlin Wall. Everyone was happy (but in the meantime everyone was trying to cross the wall) ... and only from the Russian side.

I enough to see how many Chinese fleeing abroad, compared to those who come to see how happy they are.

I lived there several months.I was supposed to live there two years, but I fled in horror.

The Chinese government too Niubi, which we have no way to - -.(googel translate)

  • there is only a little bit of people who speaks cantonese. so cantonese is not china's natinal landuage!!!

  • one thing is definately not correct: Cantonese is a local language of Guangdong Province and Hongkong, and it is only one of lots local languages in China. Every province in China, even a city or a villege has their different local languages.

Not only other part of china speaks mandarin, but also Guangdong province speaks.

In one word, mandarin is Chinese official language, require all Chinese people to know it. Cantonese is only a local language.

  • A nice video of the dictatorship propaganda ;-)

  • CHINA!CHINA!CHINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ;) What about tian an men square and lack of human rights and freedom in general ?

  • @AriodanteITA Do you know China a lot? You lived there 4 a long time? Have you been deprived of human rights and freedom there? I grew up there, and been to other countries and now in the U.S. I've never felt like losing freedom or rights when I living in China, either getting more freedom or rights elsewhere. I'd love to hear what ur experience to make you think that way. If u just say that groundlessly, or learn that from media, then just shut the f**k up. This is just an objective video.

  • @AriodanteITA adding a smiling face isn't enough to cover up how fucked up and ignorant your mind is. The west has just as many fucked up things and nobody gives them as much shit as they do when similar events happen in China. Go educate yourself before you comment on something like this.

  • @safersin Lol...yes...maybe it's me the uneducated one... but i am just talking by experience. It was, for example, funny to ralize that no young boy in china ever seen the famous picture of the "tank man"...

the Ethnic cleansings, the persecutions of Christians and falun gong practitioners, the laogais, forced Organ transplantation to the senteced to death.

I'm just saying that It's easy to become a superpower when u can count on slavery, censore and repression :-)

  • @AriodanteITA Yes, the Spaniards have committed mass genocide, witch hunts in the middle ages across Europe, Medieval slaughters, CRUSADES.

Alright, those were in the past, let's talk about more recent issues, mass US propaganda during Cold War era, political blackmailing between countries in Europe after WW2, financial warfare just to name a few.

As for death sentences, America has it as well. So shut your uneducated trap. Stepping on others has always been how superpowers were formed.

  • @safersin :)i'm always amazed on how easily chinese people let the government oppress themselves. the difference is that in the other countries, when people realized that they were under a dictatorship, they tried to fight it in order to acquire freedom... chinese just are happy to stay there and work like slaved exploited ants, without asking or complaining. to quote a famous "prisoner": “Questions are a burden to others; answers a prison for oneself."

  • @AriodanteITA now that you recognize that the western culture is just as bad if not worse than the east, you want to implicitly describe the people living there are retarded and weak? You arrogant fuckwit!

If the Chinese people don't even care, don't be so arrogant as to think that what you think is correct. Who the fuck are you to judge what is right and wrong?

If the people don't think that they are oppressed, then axiomatically, they are not oppressed.

  • @safersin ahhaha... you're so funny :-) Communist propaganda is really doing a good job...

I'm not arrogant, I'm just trying to put you in front of the things that you would not want to see. :)

The fact that people can not protest publicly, does not mean they are happy and are not thinking to be oppressed. The last time the people we have tried to protest, the government has passed over them with tanks. It must not have been a pleasant experience. The dissidents are all in jail as Lu Xiaobo.

  • @AriodanteITA No, you're not putting me in front of anything but your personal believes. Unless you have lived in China for an extended period of time, everything you say is bullshit.

Outside of China, protests are oppressed forcefully as well.

If America and Europe climbed to the status of a super power (now and in history) by oppression, why shouldn't China? Especially when they're treating people far better than the US and Europe back in those days.

  • Comment removed

  • @AriodanteITA Old post but you need to understand the situation of china

China has 1.3 billion people. A large country like USA has 300 million people. Overpopulation is a very real issue as is the issue of feeding all these ppl and providing living space for everybody. So yes the government is strict and authoritarian because it is necessary

If you look at india which is in a similar situation but democratic. It is even more corrupt, there is an even larger wealth gap and generally worse off

  • @AriodanteITA exactly, a lot of chinese believe the government rather than believe themselves. i'm chinese but i dont know why. i know what CCP done and i hate it. i want to change.

  • Comment removed

  • @AriodanteITA You don't understand the mindset of the Chinese. Americans are obsessed with making sure all their rights are protected but the Chinese are not ones to protest or dissent. And it's not because they aren't able to; many simply don't care. For each Chinese "dissident" you see, there are millions of others who ignore politics and concentrate on their lives. As safersin said, "if the people don't think that they are oppressed, then axiomatically, they are not oppressed".

  • @gobipill what a coincidence, it's the same in every blody dictatorhip, and the more the dictatorship is bloody and the more people prefere not to dissent (otherwise they are jailed, tortured, sent to labour camp such as your beloved "Laogai")...do people already forgot what happened to the protesters in Tian An men? It's the same in north Corea, Cuba...and it was the same under the Nazi Germany. Wake Up!

  • @AriodanteITA tian an men event had truely happened but its just a way that govt uses to controll its people like in other countries.if we wanna talk about humen rights here, china is not the only one in the world that should be critisied, just simply think about australian VS australian aboriginal people and US VS black people. Chinese govt does have some bad sides but no one can ignore the huge economic development since 1949.

  • @clovec100

Sure: Tian an men never happened.

In China under the Communist dictatorship people are all happy. and Santa Claus exists.

    ahaha

it is useless to deny or defend. the terrible Chinese government has killed and is still killing and causing sufferings. What amazes me is the silence of the rest of the so called evolved and civilized world.

Ignoring the suffering and cruelty to thousands of people only because the nation in question has two pennies more of them.

  • You might give credits for the background music in the end ;-) The Last Emperor maint title theme by David Byrne

  • Interesting and just have fun :)

  • all three thumbs up!! %)

  • Some people just like to make things political and complicated. Simply enjoy the show!!

  • it is just a superficial atstement. if you don't know why then you can't know a true china

  • it's not ture I am not cantonese, and my hometown people not speak mandarin as well

  • Just curious what accent is this? Some mix of British?

  • @rcsquare24 It's a Chinese person narrating, possibly from the south of China though not completely sure

  • @rcsquare24 Just chinese with british english and some his original chinese accent

  • tipet, taiwan...blah blah blah. who cares! this video is cute!!!!

  • If Tibet apart from China, they will have no food, no money, no education, no modernization, no electricity ,etc. JUST cant find out what they have.

AND,if the same thing happened to Taiwan, there will be no Taiwan any more.

  • oh, Taiwanese? not Chinese... So you suckers wanna kiss Japan's ass as if they raised you? Oops, too bad, they don't see your blood the same as theirs...Sorry~

  • Nice introduce, but come on~ please remove the island--Taiwan from the map...

  • This video is so cool!!!!!!!!! U know more than me!

  • The Tibet thing: When members of Israel's Likud party publicly stumped for the Republicans against the Democratic President, I was infuriated. Stay out my country's politics! You got beef, take it to the State Department! Maybe the Chinese feel the same way about Westerners meddling in Tibet.

  • Tibet doesn't properly belong to China either. But try telling that to the Chinese government.

  • Good and fun. Like the background music, reminding me the cartoons in childhood.

  • I don't care if Taiwan belongs to mainland China or not. We share the same history and similar culture. That's it.

  • @mmrlane I don't even care about that, if they want to declare they have nothing Chinese in them, that's great. They'd better not even speak or use Chinese language or maintain Chinese tradition (although they maintain a better Chinese culture than us). We did just fine without Taiwan, and to be honest, it's only because the government kissing Taiwan's ass that they enjoy all the benefits doing business in mainland China, not to mention the huge trade surplus they have.

  • @mmrlane It's just such a weird feeling to have a group of people who gain so much from you and yet hate you at the same time. It sounds stupid to me trying so hard to make friends with them or draw them close, why bother? The more you offer to them, the bigger sucker they think you are.

  • @wangjiahua17 Agree with u. I don't hate them while don't try to be close to them intentionally. They are just people like everyone else on the globe. But I do resent someone's deliberate provocations.
