oh and learn a couple wally pleasant songs or some mojo nixon. launching into "Elvis Is Everywhere" or "Stupid Day Job" can get the drunks laughing and opens their wallets. Having some funny "go-to" songs is real handy. the best thing about playing on the street is that whether you make money or not, it's always an adventure, and you meet some real characters. :-) But don't be afraid to grab your hat and walk off up the street if somebody is getting in your face--they usually move on quick.

The best thing to do if you want to play on the street is just go and do it. Here's a tip: bring your guitar case or a hat, and throw a couple $1 bills and some quarters in there to get it started--people look at that and it helps. People are looser around bars in the evening with the coinage, but they also are boisterous. Just keep smiling and don't bite if they insult you. You're proficiency is better than half the players downtown here, go for it!

Wow brother...Nice job. Vocals were a only occasionally out of tune. But you probably have the most soulful voice of anyone I've heard on YT sing this, and the strumming was awesome. Popper would be proud...Hope you've been hittin' the streets by now.
