Alex is my hero!!!! Love your fun optimistic attitude towards Fibro. I'm sorry you have to live with this...as I struggle with it myself...but your positive, fighting spirit (and your son's) is admirable! ((hugs)))
I love your video! I would love if you would join my fan on facebook called fibrotv. There is a group that I never post on anymore but if you go there it will have the new link. IT is a VERY positive group. We focus on healing the body not complaining! I posted your video there :-) Thank you!
I am a recovered fibromyalgic who left the medical profession to discover the cause and cure for this horrific disease after 15 years of failed treatments. I understand this illness completely from the inside and back out again. Symptoms are often mistaken as a cause and what can help does not cure. Please, do not give up and keep going. See my You Tube video "Curing Chronic Fibromyalgia - Choosing What Works" and my best wishes to you all!!!
No doubt..."What makes you "think" you have fm?" - I pulled it out of a hat one day and decided this was disease for me :) lol :) Thanks for making me laugh about this crap :)
You are very welcome. I figured you just have to keep a good sense of humor about this stuff! I don't think the doctors mean to offend us with their comments. Some of them don't understand FM well. But, it is getting better each year. Plus, we as patients can help educate them. (Or, hit them over the head with our ice packs.) OOOooops, was that my outside voice?
Wow, you're getting really good at the video editing! The "dance" video is great, and made me laugh! I can relate...my daughter likes to bust a move too, but she hasn't had nearly the same challenges. Good for him!
Thanks Melubell! So glad you enjoyed the dance video! It was great fun to create! My son makes me laugh so hard with his funny dances! Glad he can give other people a good chuckle, too. :) He is a happy boy, and other than some muscle stiffness during the winter months, (he is still affected by the weather), his biggest challenges these day are deciding what summer camp he wants to go to, or wrestling control of the remote control away from his Dad. He really is feeling good these days! :)
Dancing is one of my most favorite things to do and like Alex, when I move to the music, I feel no pain granted, it does not mean I won't get a little flare up... but so worth it because of the fun and way it makes me feel inside.
As for doctors, they can be idiots! Thank G-d there are those like Dr. Armand, who know what we need and feel.
I am so glad Alex is feeling much better "from Surfing to dancing!" That should be your next video!
I have very mild Fibromyalgia and like alex I also love to dance. I have found too that when I am dancing I'm not in pain. I can be in pain and start dancing and while i'm dancing I feel great. of course thats not always the best idea to be dancing while i'm in pain but for some reason dancing just makes me feel so much better throughout the day. And it makes me so much happier on days I'm struggling with depressing feelings associated with fibromyalgia.
Hi, Annie! Thanks for writing! Well, there is a reason why dancing makes you feel better-- exercise DOES help folks with fibro. So, you are really ARE making yourself feel better by dancing. Keep those muscles limber and moving. You are doing the right thing! Great work! Keep on dancing!
Hi Diana, haven't corresponded with you in awhile. You make me laugh. People and doctors always talk to us like we're retarded. And it's not just regarding fibromyalgia. It's a LOT of things. Believe it or not, we actually know our bodies better than doctors do. I haven't gone on the Guai diet, but have taken Guai at night & have really felt no difference in my body other than hawkin' up loogies. Talk soon!
