To lizzyvance, there is no other artist like Sade, not even similar. Just go listen to all her original debut released stuff up till now and everything in between. Steely Dan kinda reminds me of Sade, but he is a dude, and came WAY before, so you might not like him.

Steely Dan is a popular rock, blues, jazz band from the 70's, not a solo artist. You really can't compare (not saying you InDogRag) Sade to any female singer, I mean Sade did get a lot of comparison to Billie Holiday earlier in her career. But to be honest, when I listen to Sade (especially on some of her older hit songs) she reminds me more of a female version of the late Marvin Gaye as far as her style of singing.

And it is more what chords they play over their usual clean bass lines, their progressions, etc.. all that adds to = They sound (as in the SOUND) is relatively the same. And that equals = AWESOME ! Also, take in consideration one is from the 70's so cut the "sound exact" some slack.
