Just saw Act of Valor. Extremely inspiring movie, and the fact that it brought me to this song is just as wonderful. Someday I will hopefully be just like those brave men out there.

Joining the army isn't something you do for reputation or fame, you better be damn sure it's what you want to do. Don't do it for yourself but for the people you love and want to protect.

@av3ngedsev3nf0ld4lif If you are in a reserve corp you are going to be living a civilian life style, otherwise, active duty is active duty (albeit in varying degrees). The Marines have the highest standards for physical fitness and because the Army is so big and broad the Army is sometimes seen as less intense, but the Infantrymen of the Army are just as intense as the Marines.
... although I may be a bit biased seeing as I'm in the Army.
@av3ngedsev3nf0ld4lif Rangers are definetly not near MARSOC ( Force Recon and other Marine Expeditionary forces). Rangers do alot of hostage negotiation and things of that sort, Force Recon does things like the SEALs, usually on a higher level, Force Recon does alot of blackops, and target recovery, you cant even try out for Force Recon, you have to be picked, you can try out for SEALs and Rangers.
@drew42322 Make sure you know what your signing up for before you go in, i advise the USMC, If you want to do shit like the SEALs do spend some years in the corps and than either go SEALs, or go into USMC force recon, they do alot of the same things SEALs do, but mainly blackops, you gotta be real good to do that kinda stuff though.

@TheGIbzo Marines are the toughest assault force weve got, but in terms of special operations it goes to the SEALs and MARSOC. Marines are not better than SEALs and SEALs are not better than Marines, because they both do completely different things.
I didn't know it before Act of Valor...but Im glad they used it in the trailer...because it made me get chills because of that EPIC 3.5 minute trailer in the theater today

I am leaving in march for the airforce to be a combat controller we work directly with the seals marine corps army I have been training for 6 months special forces is all about devotion to the cause so good luck for anyone wishing to be in the special forces of any branch it is difficult. the test i had to to take to just qualify almost killed me good luck god bless america

@breakdance1441 i'm not gonna go into the armed forces unless i really have to, just too high of a death rate. I'm more likely to join SWAT so I can still do the awesome stuff, but be able to return home afterwards. (not that i'm afraid, I'm just not yet ready to put my life on the line)

Thanks to Act of Valor I found this song. The song has a beautiful kind of 'touch' that really grabs me. I'm really looking forward to Act of Valor. It makes me think about every soldier, marine or Navy SEAL that are risking their lives for freedom of their country or whatever other reason. My true respect goes out to every one of them.

an absloutly amazing song. all three parts. ever since i saw the trailor for "Act of Valor" i couldnt get this song out of my head for some reason. my dad, who is on his 7th tour of duty in afghanistain as a special forces operator, loves this type of music. and my brother who was killed in baghdad loved this band. i miss them both dearly. and this song keeps me closer to both of them cause i think of them all the time. and i sung all 3 parts with my band in a talent show. and we won 1st place.

Holy shit. I stumbled on this song while watching the Act of Valor trailer, and it is one of the best things I ever heard. I literally stopped the trailer right then and there so I could look this song up. Snow Patrol, why do you have such a bad rap? How do more people not listen to this song?!
