I've been told that there are a few jedi who created lightsabers that had locking mechanisms so that the blade would still be on even with no outside forces acting on it. I may be wrong, but it would make the scene that much more accurate with the Star Wars universe. And if I remember right, the locking mechanism was used by one of the new Jedi Knights who would have fought along side the Solo kids.
Actually, whatever energy field contains the "light" gives it its sometimes solid qualities. And there are multiple instances where a thrown lightsaber "sticks" into things/people. Qui gon burning through the doors in Episode I actually illustrates all points I made here.
wow this video was impressive. the choreography was top notch, well up there with pros. these guys are very talented and the camerawork was well worked. I can tell alot of effort and time was put into this project. hope to see more.
yah LSmaker is good too...actually imma gonna use that and after effects for my duel when i post it..may not be as good as this but it will be as good as the first RvD i hope!
Agreed, well at least it is the same good. they are entirely different stylistically so they are hard to compare. The choreography inRvD2 is definitely more creative and groundbreaking but the acting is and directing is a little better in this one.
the double bladed guy uses Jar Kei (sp) if i'm not mistaken, the other guy used what appears to me Djem So, which is more based on power, but that's just a Star Wars fan like me ^^;
The music was so powerful and when i watched the fight u could feel the emotions that guy was going tro and to fight like that and with that passion makes me think that was better than some films fights!
so far i have only seen one other that can compare to this one, it was infact inspired by this clip and uses the same soundtrack for the most part. it is called brothers pain you should not have a hard time finding it if you are interested.
You guys are my favs. Love the choreography, the speed and spontaneity. You kept good distance and threat to each other. Better that Lucas! BTW, love the historical reference and the fact that you used music NOT by Williams. I look forward to your next production. Could you have used more "period" clothes? Yes, but since you did not set this up as a Star Wars storyline, who cares?
ho, snap! I smell a copyright enfringement. Awesome vid, just two things...
why don't they set the grass on fire and why doesn't the guy say anything after having all his internal organs cauterized? (aesthetics is an okay reason).
these guys are better than the people in actual star wars they should hav been in the cast they are brilliant luv it soooooooooooooooooooo much i wish i cud fight like that
The makers left their contact info at the end of the credits You can write them and find out if they have done anything since. I am also sure they would not mind hearing how much you liked their work.
Matrix Styled Jumps+Hella Good Music+ Crazy Saber Wielding=THE***BEST!!!! very nice very nice. Things like these can only be done so well by 1337 asians. (jk) xDD
How has he edited it i mean its not the perfect background and he moves the saber so fast... it's incredible that he was able to get the saber on every frame.
This music is the best i've heard to go with such a beautifull scenary and a magnificent sword fight.
I wish my knee would heal so i could get back to my training... who ever these clarence ho, calvin ho and cary ho are, well you've just inpired me to do more =) thanks for the great movie!
Actually, other than the fact that they are using light sabers there is no indication whatsoever that these two are infact jedi. Further more, I belive that to be entirely beside the point! This short is a work of art, telling a unique story, created by two very tallented boys. Wheter we recognize this or not is up to us. I for one chose to enjoy this clip without letting any trivial details get in my way.
yeah, if anyone can find a fan made lightsaber duel they think is better than this one I want to know about it? because I have seen many and nothing comes close!
Sorry I never spent enough time with a camera to develop any cinematographic talen worht speaking of. Also I really do not have any video editing software on my computer so the chances of me uploading something I myself created are very low. But my brother and my friends made one short. if you want I can upload that
that is by far the most amazing video ive seen on youtube of yet.

awsome. Lightsabers shut off when no one's holding them though...
Ninjarg 3 years ago
Not always. Vader's lightsaber stays on when he throws it at Luke in Return of the Jedi.
Berges21 3 years ago
he does that with the force, of no one's holding it and there is no force applied, it turns of.

well, anyway, you can't stick a lightsabre in the ground like that, since laser/light is not solid.

Excellent!...but it looks like they forgot to preserve luminosity, resulting in a "fat" saber glow. Incredible choreography however.

whats the name of credits song?????

It is written in the cast at the end:
"Honor Him" from the gladiator movie.

That was truly INCREDIBLE. They nailed the concept of lightsaber battle with incredibly quick and lethal movements, something most people fail to do.

I think the red is just a random color.
