  • how did you get the cop to come

  • @Mr44centz I set out some doughnuts in my driveway.

  • @scottykilmer oh god... lol.

  • 3 people weren't convinced.

  • I couldnt imagine some impacts of 70+mph and w/out protections of today, as in much older cars you had no crumple zones, no airbags and only lap belts.. I always wear my safety belt and tell anyone riding w/ me to do the same. I would say the incidence of life-threatening injury/danger from wearing a seat belt is far less than its effectiveness in preventing serious injury/death.

  • Why dont manufactures make cars where the car wont start unless you have your seat belt on?

  • @supercarsAREcool Because you sometimes start your car just to warm up before getting into it, or you have remote start. In a parking lot you don't need to wear a seatbelt, etc.

  • i dont understand why we dont just get to chose to not have a seatbelt

it shouldnt be mandatory, it is the persons fault if they dont buckle up, cops just try to find reasons to get money out of our pockets

  • @j0k3r9696 They won't get money if you wear the seatbelt. You can actually harm others in the car if you don't wear a seatbelt, you get side swiped and you get thrown into the person beside you, you're going to hurt that person. It is tricky indeed, but to drive on the roads the Government made for you - you have the follow the rules. If you make your own road, then you don't need to wear a seatbelt.

  • @sacr3 people like you let the cops take away your rights in exchange for your "safety"

cops dont care about the safety of others they just want YOUR money and they try to find any simple

excuse to get it from not having seatbelts, "speeding", and those red light cameras that are proven to create more accidents than preventing them

personally i think seatbelts are great, i put them on whenever i drive, not because i want to prevent getting a ticket, but because it is safe

  • @j0k3r9696 My rights? Nono, this is a matter of intellect. It doesn't take a Genius to realize not wearing a seatbelt is a bad thing. I don't do it for the "big man's" sake, I do it for my own. You talk about cops like they're a whole different race. Cops are humans, humans feel empathy. They have seen accidents with people not wearing their seatbelt and of course feel bad for the family/friends that suffer. Seeing someone not wearing a seatbelt screams stupidity. Selfishness, etc.

  • @sacr3 i am not targeting cops, theyre in the boat as you and all of the ignorant people trying to deny the fact that we are being stripped of our freedom just because, "they're keeping us safe". Sadly, they are doing what they are told to do, and that is to bring in as much money as possible, they are not told directly, but have been tricked into thinking they are doing the right thing by "stopping crime", which means giving tickets to "speeders". HONESTLY, WHO GOES THE SPEED LIMIT NOWADAYS?

  • @j0k3r9696 Stripping us of our freedoms? What is this list you have? give me some examples. I think I proved a pretty good point earlier, the roads we drive on was paid and maintained by the government. So, we have the follow the rules on those roads. The rules are simple, Be safe. Speeding (20+ over the limit) does make things more dangerous for other drivers. No Seatbelt does decrease your chance to survive in an accident by a HUGE margin. I don't see where my freedom is being stripped.

  • @sacr3 theres the problem, everybody thinks that the roads belong to the government, thats wrong, the roads belong to the people, THE TAXPAYERS.

The truth about the speed limit is that all cars go a certain speed and obviously its not the speed limit because its too slow, going the speed limit is dangerous because that disrupts the flow of traffic due to the driver going too slow. ANSWER ME THIS, HAVE YOU TRIED GOING THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE FREEWAY?

  • @j0k3r9696 You're telling me its more dangerous to be in a traffic jam than a high speed accident? I sit in the fast lane and go 15km over the limit for the most part. Its dumb, yes, and i'm using more fuel than i should have too, but i'm also impatient. Will I cause an accident? No clue, I may. If you were to do a majority vote, people would probably stick to the current rules of the road. They aren't restrictive at all, wear your seatbelt and follow the speed limit. Its not that bad at all.

  • @j0k3r9696 probably to stop people with no insurance from dying so they can pay for the damage caused to other people from their shitty driving

  • Well, they save you from flying through the windshield, and after knowing people who now don't exist from doing that, I'm wearing my seat belt. Scotty Kilmer

  • Do you know the ammount of people who are killed by seatbelts in a year? Less then 10. You are an idiot if seatbelts wernt nessary manufactures wouldnt spend money to install them in cars.

  • I don't know where you get your information from but your data is wrong. And car manufacturers install them because they are REQUIRED to.......Jackass.

  • They are required too because they save lives and i clealy said they wouldnt unless they were required too. Im not a jackass your a dumbass. I dont understand why you think flying around the cabin of your car in an accident is better for you then staying put in your seat. You clearly arent the brightest person because you havent thought this through at all. What ever dude i dont care what happens to you, your just a typical ignorant american. Yeah im an american too but im not a stubborn idiot.

  • @Spewedonyou lol what? Yes the "big brother" wants you to wear a seatbelt for their grand conspiracy of... what? Not having the freedom of moving 1 foot in a car? A seatbelt will save you. The only reason a seatbelt would kill you is if you're traveling 100mph and coming to a dead stop - it may break bones, cut into your skin. But think for a moment, imagine not wearing the belt? You'd be tossed through a windshield, break even more bones including the skull, etc.

  • Some jackass idiot wasn't looking ahead and rear-ended my car on Highway 6 the day I was moving out of Houston. I don't know how fast he was going (my airbag didn't deploy) but my neck hurt for DAYS after that.

I had to move all my stuff with my neck hurting, it wasn't fun. But I was wearing my seat belt. :)

  • WTF? It's 2008 and authorities have to do this to get people to realise that wearing seat-belts are a good idea.

Why not just photos of the result of not wearing a set belt, that would do the trick.

  • I've ridden that thing when they had it at the Houston Auto show back in the late 90s. Ouch is right...not fun.

On the seatbelts...don't manufacturer' warantees cover them for the life of the car?

The latch went out on my 92 240SX in 02 when the car had 165K miles on it. Nissan installed a new one free of charge. As it turned out someone ran a stop sign a year later, crashed into me, and the car was totalled out. BTW, I was wearing the belt and walked away without a scratch.

  • Yes, my breast bone hurt for about three weeks after the shoot with the Convincer. I was dumb enough to ride it for two of the shots, so it REALLY hurt. Scotty Kilmer
