Tell yourself that Mr Paganini was a link between Baroque and Romantism schools; a unique figure of both worlds : and we can play it as good today ! Tell me !
Interestingly, I find this caprice to be one of te easier ones, but possibly also because it is a bit more interesting to study, so I put more effort into it.
But I've given up arguing that the caprices are also great music. Indeed, I don't think they do justice to the amount of work that goes into playing them.
..its awesome when u see his eyes buldge open b4 1.56 u know ur in for a crazy part of paganini thoughts.. this Caprice look the most aggressive to play by his facial expressions and arm movements... cant believe this music was written so long ago.. and no can create better... Guess it was the time period? Thanks for the brain candy :D
The playing of the Israeli violinists reflects where they grew up. Gitlis is obviously from Chadera, Perlman from Reshon Letsiyon, Zukerman from Tsfat, Shacham from Gadera, and Mintz from Ashkelon.
hearing this makes me sad that there are alcoholics and substance abusers ruining their lives around the globe. humans are capable of this kind of beauty, its a fact all should recognize and strive for. Im a violinist and know I sound dramatic but im speaking the truth. schlomo mintz great job!
Ok if one practices one will...to hell with that! the truth is that this guy is a genius...the control over of his violin in through it all is impressive.
amazing, however I still believe Jascha Heifetz is better. But still he really gets into the music and creates a great tone. Does anybody know why his 24 etude only included 16 caprices?

It's incredible how he seems to be in total control in the Presto portion - like a Formula One racer driving a Ferrari at 200+ mph!
