I just sad that EA don't bring these great concepts in this mod, and maybe improve or something, to the next game in the series: Battlefield Bad Company 2. They only improve graphic and game engine for a little more realistic game play, but trace off many other feature such as 64 players per map, bigger maps, flying jets (they still keeping flying heli, but I kinda fell missing something), and a little bit more of realistic command rank, and not versatile of weapon choice either (for me though)

I like PR.. but there is one thing what pissing me off. Shoting system is very bad for me ;/ I know that , devs can't simulate shoting system very good, because bf2 enginge cant support this. So they make some thing, that we need wait couple second before we can shot pretty well. That is very frustraiting. And its very hard to hit someone. Everything in this mod is good.

AIX has a dismal online community, like most BF2 mods except PR and FH2 (which struggles). Playing bots gets boring fast.

As for vanilla BF2, most PR players despise it. In fact many just bought BF2 to play PR and haven't touched vanilla.

Well I think that taking-off/landing and flying thing is so complex in PR that it's the only thing you can think about while flying and there's no time to think about bombing and fighting other planes. They made it too difficult and too serious for that kind of game. Of course there are some heavy-experienced specialists who are able to cope with everything and even kill somebody on request, but for the majority playing PR it's something impossible.

@StMalk Flying in PR is very demanding, whether it's keeping the aircraft alive or coordinating effective use of it.

Overall I would say that they have made it too difficult to use aircraft properly compared to how ridiculously easy it is to shoot them down.

Aircraft are a neglected element of PR, the Combined Arms team has been working on improving them though. Let's hope the next major version gives them the attention they deserve.

The air-ground balance is kind of reversed from vBF2.

@Damecos i'd hav to disagree with ur statement tht they're neglected. the learning curve is verrrrrry steep for newbie pilots of PR but most servers i've played where air support is available, the people who were using the aircraft were highly efficient at their jobs and werent getting picked off after every sortie. but yes, its hard as hell to learn to fly (im still tryinggg >.<)

There hasn't been any updates to the flight physics in at least 3 years and the only guy that worked on them is no longer a dev.

They are one of the lowest priorities in PR, even 2 years after the Combined Arms team took the initiative in making their own improvements they haven't been implemented.

Only 3 of the 24 maps even have jets, 2 I despise.

well, you can control the jet of helicopter with your keyboard, while looking around, with the W,A,S,D keys.

Its the same as holding control and looking around with your mouse and still use the rudder on the bird.

But if you want full control of the bird you will need to release control again.

Pretty sure he was referring to feet per minute and anytime you are descending that number would be negative. I don't see how he could have calculated vertical speed because the game isn't scaled properly by any means you can't really see the altimeter. The flying isn't realistic by any means but who looks at a BF2 mod for realistic flight simulation.

Landing rate if you fly you can look at your Vertical Speed and it's a negative value because your decending not climbing so in your video you landed very hard which I'm sure is easy to do it being BF2. -1200 ft/min means your Vertical speed was 1200 ft/min when you landed.

Thats actually not true. There is no specific age requirement from the FAA on when a person can begin flight training. If you pass the medical exam, the ground classes, and can reach all the controls you are cleared to begin training. I know people that began flying at 14. However, you cannot fly SOLO until you're 18. You must have a lisenced instructor pilot with you before then.
