I am glad I found your idea for this. I have been tuning for 10 years and recently have had quite painful wrists and forearms from action work, rebuilding, tuning etc. I hope it works for me. I need to tune about 4 pianos per day, but have been stopping after only 2 due to the paon. Thank you for posting
Thanks for this idea. I just spent the afternoon tuning my piano and my hand is complaining loudly. I can't imagine how it would hurt if I was doing this all day every day.

Ron,; I made a key striker, and try to use it. Good to focus on the hand that hold the hammer, buit that is all.
Now test the following : have some tuner friend hold the hammer while you are striking the notes.
Then do the reverse, tune while someone is striking the key.
Is not something changing ?

The keystriker isn't for hitting hard,(though it can help there) it is for protecting the hand, fingers and wrist from repetitive stress injuries.

Thanks, your posture with 2/3 fingers is reverse direction from natural.
Your goodie to pound keys is robbing all the tactile feedback which is necessary to fine tune,Human hand is necessary there.
Pounding is only necessary in some cases, provide a very different final tone.
Most of the concert tuners I know stopped pounding after 10 years or so !
