Yeah girl! I shaved my head last night for much the same reason as you (liberation from hair/vanity, curiosity, a desire to "start my hairstyle anew", and a sense of rebirth). I really think head shaving is something every woman should try once in her life. As women, I think there's too much emphasis on how beauty is all in our hair, and I didn't want that to be me anymore. Many of my friends are actually jealous of my bald scalp :D

@canadiananny86 Yep, I was, too. I finally decided not to let my fear control me. And the reaction was overwhelmingly positive (people told me I was brave, beautiful, etc.). :)

@canadiananny86 Thanks! I found that keeping it bald required too much upkeep. I now keep it super short, kind of like a crew cut. I love it! :)

Hey, I really admire you for doing this - it takes guts for a woman to shave her head. I did mine last week, and though was a bit scared, once it was done I almost felt a kind of relief. That I didnt have to worry about my hair anymore, its just me and my face left. I feel free now, which sounds kinda weird. But I'm enjoying the lack of hair at the moment!

I had to shave my head due to chemo, but I am starting to like my new look. It feels good doesnt it? I had fun one night while driving with my girls and their friends in the car, they were all singing and we had the windows down........I took off my bandana and let the wind blow right over my bald head.......no hair to get messy....it was the best! So many people think I have cancer and come up to me and wish me well--it has really raised an awareness in me that I didn't really have before. Blessings to you as you live through this challenging part of your life.

BTW, it's also nice to get up in the morning and not have to worry about my messy hair. :o)
