Also, this critique may have considered including the concept of "popular" versus Nichetube. Many musicians on Youtube get notoriety by covering already famous songs.

I will address the idea that Youtube does not allow for a central focus for the artists and their viewers, and therefore, a community. Perhaps due to changing design of Youtube since this video was created, the critique overlooks the fact that artists Youtube pages have a singular focus, and that's the artist and their music (admittedly Youtube artists pages are not as extensive as Myspace).

I wonder if its the design of YouTube which makes this "scientific" or "academic" piece seem like a (myspace)commercial or if its the producers of this video who are so keen on imitating this style

I would like to see (or hear) music play a larger part of this piece. Why do we listen, make it, need it, seek it out? The assumption that exposure, in itself, is what makes music matter, or relevant, establishes that other values or purposes of art are irrelevant. True?
