@johngona Take my remark personally or look at it as a shorthand comparison between two very different songs. This song is the same (very few) string of chords looped, then for the choruses they switch off between having and not having support instruments, which all amounts to a song that a two year old could memorize, or good alternative radio. On the (very) other hand, King Rat shocks, thru both lyrical imagery + a comparatively wild structure. Next time simply ask me "why."
@greenassskateboard If you grew up in Washington, you'd probably end up on meth as well. A good majority of the people I met when I lived there were tweekers.
I've been listening to Modest Mouse for a long time (since LCW) and I know every one shouts mainstream at this song but it's actually one of my favorites by MM. I just like the sound and the lyrics are awesome.

this is soo bad they arent talented at all they just use a bunch of musicians so they will sound good i mean for fuck sakes they need two god damn drummers cause 1 isnt good enough i also dont like that the lead singer guy plays guitar and banjo he needs to make up his fucking mind and what the fuck is up with the trumpet what real musician uses a trumpet "wouldve been couldve been" ? what a retarted ass lyric they dont even sound mainstream modest mice needs to retire
Check out the song Trucker's Atlas. It shows that they really don't need two drummers. Check out Every Penny Fed Car as well. And listen to the lyrics in some other songs.
i don't believe that for a minute. your tolerance on acid builds so fast and is so high that you couldn't even do it 2 weeks apart and feel the effects. also i AM a drummer and i HAVE played on acid and it's fucking hard.
i was going to use him as an example, he said he recorded himself playing drums on acid and thought it was the greatest drumming he had ever played, later he listened to it and thought it was terrible, he never dropped acid again after that
i love mouse! i wanna see them so much

Jon Fishman, for the first year of playing with Phish, dropped acid at every single concert. He was their drummer.
