  • Keep up the good job, mate!

  • War is beautiful

  • @moderjoker

go to iraq and if u come back for sure u will change ur fuckin opinion. dumbass

  • @tsofchilda War simulation is beautiful. Get bent.

  • @moderjoker "war is sweet for those who never experienced it" i forgot who said that lol

  • The thing I loved about mods for Med2 and Rome is that the infantry can look after themselves. In RS mod I can pretty much keep the main line fighting with minimum casualties for hours.

    Is a nice guide though.

  • is it just me or do cavarlry in this game (as opposed to earlier games) not have ANY charge impact impetus ? they just stop when they collide into infantry, ruining any of their momentum - how rustrating, Rome Total War hammer and anvils are epic in how the cav literally smashes into them

  • Love the parts when the soldiers actually get flung into the air in RTW. Hehe

  • @oscar1123581321

maybe it's gone because it was overpowered?

  • perhaps but u still need the impact of cavalry !!! otherwise why bother ?

  • true

  • Oh my god, I know what you're talking about. I would have had my ass kicked while invading Greece and Macedonia without the power of Rome's cavalry charges. Those phalanx hoplites require hammer and anvil to take down.

  • @EdikShepherd i use artillery mostly, hasn't done that bad.

  • @oscar1123581321

i think its the exact opposite actually beacuse units like spartans and urban cohorts take hammer charges like a gentle push from behind

  • @ninjapersonguy that my freind (no mocking intended) is because they are very highly trained and hardy soldiers who can deal with being flanked and can brace against such forces due to their immense skill :D

  • @oscar1123581321

from behind? when they are facing the wrong direction and taken completely by surpirse?

  • @ninjapersonguy im sure they would have eyes and ears to see the incoming threat :D ... it depends how bad the hammer strike is .. .. but what i said still stands to an extent i think

  • @ninjapersonguy

of course they would hear it but im saying it routs everyother hoplite unit so why not the Spartans

  • @oscar1123581321 Well, not sure about the details, but MTW2 does seem more accurate in this matter. Cav can´t go charging forever, the impacts will stop the horses after running over a few soldiers.

  • @oscar1123581321 get Stainless Steel mod, cavalry charges there are just devastating, only the swiss pikes can stop the late game Gendarmes and Lances from charging. Spearmen get their asses whooped even on a charge on the front. Tried this once and had a Lancer unit kill 70 spearmen in a single charge, and they're even bracing it.

  • when i play a battle, i got no units flags, does someone knows how to get this?

  • should be under options under user interface. but that depends on which game you have not sure if it the same for all of them

  • were can i find user interface?

  • should be under your options menu. if you still cant find it tell me which game.

  • i got the gold edition, i don't know which version

  • i meant like rome total war, medieval, empire. not the version. i assume its medieval but gold edition makes me think rome.

  • it's medieval 2

  • well i cant find any options to change it. you may want to just try defaulting all your graphic settings and go from there.

  • thanks alot

    !!!

  • i dont need your sarcasm lol

  • it wasn't sarcasm, it helped

  • really doubt it. unless it fixed it which i doubted. i hardly ever played m2tw so i dont know much about it.

  • maybe i'll

     reinstall the game

  • a better strategy would be to split the cavalry and send it round the sides before doing this.

  • Best battles IMO, Thermopyles and Leuthen (36k Prussians defeat 80k Austrians).

BTW, the blitzkrieg is campaign strategy not battle tactics. It wasn't that effective, it only fastens the outcome of a war. And the Germans only started to loose when Adolf became the Groefaz (greatest general of all time, lol, he was such an amateur).

  • Thats basically how it is done. However I wouldnt actually group all your cavalry in one whole group, the suprise is the most important part of hammer and anvil. Have the cavalry depployed apart from each other. Have them grouped up behind enemy lines.

  • em is this a mod ur using?? the screen has some stuff my game dont have

  • That is not a mod.

I got the excact same icons on my computer.

  • Lol alexader was the best at this tactic its his specialty, the battle of guagormora or what ever was soo crazy his tactics were soo insane and on a next level:L

around 250 000 persias Vs about 40 000 greeks/macedons and 7000 of one of the know worlds best cavarly

    Results Persias lost 50 000

    greeks/Macedons 1000

    RAPEE!!

  • The battle of Guagemela wasn't a shining moment in military tactics history because he went around the 200,000 Persians. It's because Alexander managed to create a gap in the Persian lines and went through that gap with his cavalry and flanked from behind. That's a straight on attack turned into a perfect hammer. Now that is genius right there.

  • guagemela lol

  • cannae was a shining moment in military history.....its not that good too kill about 100,000 awful equipped persians.

  • Cant remember which battle this was,but still 100,000 is 100,000 you know what i mean

  • ya i know what you mean but 100,000 "soldiers" (i prefer to call them peasants) defeated by 20,000-40,000 elite macedonians isnt very......awesome

at cannae hannibal defeated a superior roman army....not defeated, crushed an roman army

  • they got annihilated dude, the crescent formation was pure genius, it makes the attack the center, center falls back into a reverse crescent, reserves attack the flanks while the cavalry goes around the back to seal the gap creating a giant slaughterhouse to occur, one of the greatest generals ever to walk this earth

  • nice vid dude :D

  • I really miss the guy talking about your cowardly foe... they really need that in empire :]

  • a silly apponent you wouldnt ingage every unit you had into the battle line if you saw all that cavalry who do you play these examples againt coz there pooow

  • and bypass/ surround enemy strong points along the way .. never halting

  • Great tutorial Yoebb, also great battle. Heh, sergeants versus dismounted knights, that would be a scare for your side, but a huge scare when you see 100 horsemen charging at you from behind.

  • gotta love the germans, when playing the germans in campaign i just blitzkrieg my way though poland and france :P

  • I don't think you know what blitzkrieg is:)

  • well blitz is something like thunder and krieg is war

so ''thunderwar'' ?, but yea i know what it is, its to defeat your enemies as quickly as possible

  • its actually lightning war

  • and its a modern war tactic. The germans used it in wwii yea, but that doesn't mean they are the only ones who can use it.

Blitzkrieg is when you put all motorized warmachines like tanks and airplanes in one place on the enemies line, and then punch through it like lightning, and end up behind them

  • actually the germans first tried the blitzkrieg in WWI, when they invaded holland and belgium to conquer france as fast as possible to be able to take care of the russians in the east

  • haha...thats funny because the germans dident win WWII......and Blitzkrieg Is when one invading army sends an overwelming amount of numbers and speed against its opponent. Usualy resulting in minimum casualties for itself and extremly high casualties for its opponent

  • yeh ture but the blitzkreig means lightning war.. infintary rushing the feild in halftracks quick light tanks and dive bombers.... : )

  • pwn before they relize then need to pwn back

  • Actually the germans weren't the first ones to use blitzkrieg they just gave that tactic a name. The i know of someone using a blitzrieg is Saladin after the battle of Hattin. he 20 or so fortified position in less than 2 mnths before taking jerusalem. he just didn't call it anything. he just went to one place then another and they either surrendered or were butchered. by those days standards that was a blizt. then you could turn to genghis Khan or Alexander the great is possible as well.

  • thats not blitzraig

    blizraigg is

planes take out stratigic locations /railway tracks / airports/bridges

then tank armies advade at full speed not stopping distroying enimy positions

    then infantry mops up
