  • I got scared when you said, "We're gonna turn it up a bit." You were already destroying the camera's mike. Lol! I can tell that the amp sounds killer though.

  • @MrWilly2204 lol, ya the mic was frapping bad, then outside you can hear how transparent the pedal is with that amp, killer sounds.

  • Playing outside... That is so awesome. You've got some serious chops.

  • @Liamguitargeek thanks dude, I appreciate the kind words, rock on bro!

  • Daaaang thats nice and a lovely creamy tone also abit loud? haha i bet ur neighbors hate you but if i were ur neighbor id be like YO BRO TURN IT UP LOUDER ITS AWSOME! haha cheers and good days =]

  • @Morethanl1f3 a GOOD loud lol ;) If all us guitar freaks were neighbors it would be a great rockin street to live on, thanks for the cool comment bro!

  • @speedburnervideo haha man that would be heaven paradise for me lol more of id be ripping it up with you with my full stack Orange thunderverb 200 haha those get loud too but like i said that would be heaven i wish one day there will be a neighbor hood just with the rockers lol=]

  • @mav5150 ya I just emailed him, they had it up, I guess Im not special enough...lol.

  • if you haven't gotten one yet, man I highly recommend a passive ernie ball VP jr in the fx loop to function as a master volume. It's done a wonder for my KT88 nitro. Very little tone loss and more effective than my hotplate believe it or not.

I also have JHS building me a klon klone. A buddy brought his over and it was love at first listen!

  • great sound!

  • @mikekerr THANKS! Brown syrupy tone ;)

  • @mikekerr thanks dude, you too have great tone ;)

  • Great tone man!!

  • Thank you dude. I appreciate the kinds words. Ya some nice brown sound happening. Love your clips too man, you play great, keep it up!

  • Yea you're doing it Rik!! I couldn't hear the Blue track as well as I would like to. Seems like I was getting more of the backing track. But I could still hear enough to tell you had it down. Man be very careful with that Splawn I i've already killed my right ear..

  • Thanks Chris, I know these heads are loud.

If Tinitus sets in, look for a product called "Quietus" helps stop ear ringing.

I always jam beside my cabs. Ive played live LOUD opening for Dokken/Fight/Winger/April Wine/Styx and I have had good luck with no ear damage so far. Take of those ears my friend, I'll send a prayer your way ;)

  • That amp sounds killer. You make it sound better perhaps, as much tone comes from the hands, and control, but I will keep this maker in mind. I may need a rig soon, a real one, so this will be immediately considered. Have a great 2010 sir. I'm rooting for you to conquer. apb

  • @aaronbergAPB you rock brother, thanks sooo much for the cool words, and YES Im endorsing and proud to endorse SPLAWN.

  • @aaronbergAPB Get a Quick Rod when you can Aaron it will change your world.

Weirdly enough, I bought a B-52 ATX-100 ( the newest head...its SICK _Marshally more smooth and FAST attack tone like Splawn

  • @aaronbergAPB I sold my JSX for the ATX-100 and I tripping out on how friggin sick it sounds, its noisier than the Splawn but with my NS-2 hooked up to it and boosting it with my EVOSEVIC Grey Mod boost, its HOME RUN HELL! I wish you only super succes my friend in 2010, knock it out of the park my friend ;) Rik

  • I am on the verge of rebirthing on the instrument. Out with the old, and in with the new. Who knows what's next, but I have a zillion ideas in my head. I'm going to be away for some months, so no real playing yet, but when I get things situated, I'm coming back hard core. Possibly a good teacher, and redirection. I made not of these models, and appreciate the tips. I'm starting over, ApB

  • @aaronbergAPB great dude! 2010 is going to be a great year, Im excited to move forward, and it sounds like your moving forward as well by shedding new skin, or should i say "shredding new skin...lol".

  • I forgot to mention that I want to play like you someday! :-)

  • I feel like I got a long ways to go ...lol,

Just put in the hours, the rest will follow in regards to technique and phrasing etc.

THANKS for the kind words my friend!!

  • I wish I could play 10 hours a day Rik, but I am fortunate if I get 10 hours a week. I like to eat so I end up going to work and leaving the guitar at home. :-)

  • Hi Rik, this is JD from the forum. I have a 2009 Splawn Competition (full Plexi style) that is in like new condition that I am thinking about selling. I am probably going to get a small combo amp to use at home and church. I LOVE my Splawn, but a simple set rig will work better for my current needs. I am also selling my Rackmount stuff. I would prefer to avoid shipping, and sell things in the San Diego area. Let me know if you know someone who might be interested. Thanks!

  • @thebibleisalltrue Hey JD, if you want to post a price for the Splawn here on this comment area, go for it, so others will be able to contact you, I'll spread the word bro! Have a great 2010 as well dude!!!!!

  • The price would be $1,150.00 firm. The amp is a 2009 in like new shape with SED winged C EL34's installed. I will throw in a Weber Bias Rite. The amp is one of the last cool old style chassis and plexi head boxes. The new ones all come in Quick Rod head boxes with a lot extra space between the controls and the head box on both sides. Mine looks MUCH cooler IMHO.The amp has the loop volume control also. I am not sure if I will actually sell it, but I might. THANKS AGAIN RICK & MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  • Sounds like you have a classic Splawn JD! Good luck on moving the amp, it should go pretty quick. Have a Merry Christmas as well dude!!!!

  • I am not sure if I could actually part with my Splawn, but I might do it if someone waived the cash in front of my face. Thanks again Rik!

  • I realized that it would be a HUGE and STUPID mistake to sell my Splawn. I don't know what I was thinking. I could something simple and portable, but it would NEVER sound as good as my Splawn. :-) Your videos and the CP videos really helped me to appreciate just how good my Splawn is. Have a great new year!

  • JD you rock, keep it bro, your a great player, enjoy the amazing tone of SPLAWN Amplification.

  • From what I hear of the amps, you are certainly making the correct decision. I hung out, and watched Andy Timmons here in Chicago(clinic). He was playing through a Boogie ( Stiletto ) head, and it sounded great, but this Splawn has an edge IMO. This amp may be what I'm looking for, I don't know yet. Keep it!!! apb

  • I owned a Stiletto Aaron, sold it as it was just lacking something even loaded with EL34's. A stock Marshall is better I think with the right toys added but these Splawns are serious leaders in tone against ANY amp mfg. Hope your peeling away in a great way bro.

    Rik

  • Awesome tone! I want your rig!

  • Dokken/Lynch Mob 4th & B on 11/28/09!

  • cool dude, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for that, IM THERE!

  • Haha! I'm guessing that "beautiful assistant" is my beautiful daughter? Couldn't believe it when your Star Spangled Banner popped up to the right. Get this--beside our You Tube for the August show! Along with Keith Urban's Better Life which is so significant in my life. You rock by the way!

  • Yes, thats your daughter ;) Kieth is GREAT, love the voice, he plays VERY well also on guitar.

    Thanks for the nice words.

  • Not trying to be a dick but who are you?

    Are you pro?

    Nice playin and tone btw

  • Your not being a dick...lol.

Ive been playing pro for over 20 years. If you mean do i have a record deal, no...wish I did. Ive opened for Dokken, Great White, Fight, Styx, members of Boston, and others to name a few.

Thanks for the kind words about my playing though ;)

  • Damn you got some experience under your belt.

  • what kind of speakers

  • Im playing through the 2x12 George Lynch Genz-Benz that I loaded with celestion V-30's.

The Splawn cab is too loud in the room, my neighbors would hunt me down like Frankenstein waiting outside of my door with torches and pitchforks LOL!

Notice the pilows in front of the 2x12 also, haaaa.

  • awesome sound can u play some vh songs please

  • Killer tone Rik!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • right on

  • Sounds killer!

Very much what we wanted. Gonna be a great custom shop pedal!

  • Just got the email to watch your new clip, yes your a freak on that axe buddy. Im a Fender amp guy at heart, but that tone is wicked and suits your playing well, its very warm, great overdrive pedal, your name on it? Its wonderful tone when your outside!!! I need lessons brotha.

  • HOLY GOD-LIKE Tone Rick!!!!!!!!!!

CRAZY, wow, wow, its LYNCH, you nailed LYNCH! That overdrive is yes, a beast.

Make another clip playing longer dammit!

Thats your signature strat too yes?, frickin bad ass.

  • pickups are Gibson Dirty Fingers in bridge and YJM Dimarzio up front.
