Cheetah and Photographer

i see alot of comments say a cheetah can't kill an adult human...oh yes they can. if they bite your neck and get you in a chokehold like they do to their prey. but they aren't gonna try to do all that though b/c its too much a risk of getting injured since they're fragile. But like most people said you don't even have to worry about getting attacked by them at all. they don't attack humans unless they're rabid or threatened

Pure theory. A human is too tall as far as a precise jump for a throat is concerned. Unlike various antelopes, our limbs are fit to cover our throat, unlike them we know that sinking our fingers in its eye sockets will stop any kind of attack. We also know how to grab its adam's apple and snap it with one strong flick of the wrist. Are tougher to kill than a small antelope they usually hunt for. A rottweiler dog is far more dangerous to a human than a cheetah.

@parahumanoid I didn't say they'd jump, you'd have to be on the ground already. And of course we could defend ourselves (but I don't think anyone would think to grab a cheetah's adam's apple), that's why I said they'd never try it anyway. I just said i'm sure a bite to the neck or performing a chokehold is something that could kill an adult human. How could that not if they managed it.

You're right, given cheetahs usual approach to take one down at 80 MPH, one would not have much of a chance to cover his throat in time to defend himself. So yes, physically it's quite capable of killing a human. Especially and unarmed and unprepared one. I'm just saying that a human, if at least prepared, can put up quite a fight because of his advanced knowledge of anatomy. If he's armed with at least a 6 inch blade, he can be a foe not to be taken lightly.

Cheetahs are no real threat to humans except that a few carry rabies. They can scratch and bite (but rarely do unless cornered) but they haven't got the armament to kill an adult human.

Cheetahs are the most curious cats in the wild. Its not uncommon for them to walk right up to people and be like, "Whats Up" As long as you don't spook them they like to hang out.

Lucky for that guy, it was a cheetah and not a lion or leopard. Cheetahs, apart from being the most human social/friendly cats, also never ever attack humans (unless you punch a cheetah or something). That man seriously was incredibly lucky that the cheetah chose his car!

Cheetahs are more similar to the common house cat than tigers, etc. That's why they purr & chirp instead of roar, are timid and curious instead of vicious, etc. And unlike tigers, lions, leopards and jaguars which all have plenty of accounts of attacking humans, there's never been an account throughout recorded history of a cheetah attacking a person unless you do something retarded like attack their young xP
