  • polish how ??i dont know ...i just rebore block..but polish don know..can show??

  • How much would it be to bore and hone a 2 9/16 bore 10 thousandths of an inch and hone? aluminum cylinder

  • @1972FordF150 - Just call me, I don't give out qutes on the internet - they take too long for too little, or in most in most cases no reward at all. Price shopping is one thing, I not part of that solution. I try and do good quality work for reasonable prices.

  • @1972FordF150 that machine appears to move around to much for my liking and you are only measuring one part of the bore! in the same place each time surely you need to take measurements in different places

  • this turns me own for somme reason

  • I honed my own 50cc cylinder on my am6 motor.

  • do you use or recommend a torque plate when boring or honing?

    thx

  • reminds me of some of the machines i work with at a gun factory lol

  • How much would a job like this cost? And how much does it cost to take a cyhlinder head from 49mm to a 52.5mm?

  • @xtrebelx - Is there enough material that you can take out 3,5mm? Ince you bore it out that far, you will either throw the clyinder away or have to resleeve it. Cost would be around $100.

  • @fiatnutz ok but is that with parts or just labor? for the resleeve.

  • @xtrebelx - Labor only.

  • do those cuter things expand outward? wen it goes up.

  • @crombieposterboy - took? The tool was a dial bore gage.

  • @HooKahBrO88: From what I know there is just a couple of piston measures. Of course you can't add material to the piston, but you can only hone the cylinders to the next bigger piston measure. It will then fit that piston and as it wears out the cylinder will have to be honed again for a little bit bigger piston.

  • CK10?

  • @schlusselmensch - CV616

  • i got a onan 2 cyl engine that needs to be bore out .20 over do i need to purchase the pistons first?

  • That is the only right thing to do that kind of work, do not use turning-late or milling.

  • Do you have much to do with Nickel-Silicon-Carbide coatings John?

    Advantages over cost?

Im hearing good things but wondered if the cost was worth it?

  • @MrGuvEuroman - Cost is effective for the amount of additional wear and service that is available.

  • @HooKahBrO88 - Yes, the idea is to make the cylinder bore larger for a bigger piston.

  • dose symmetrical force push out the stones ?

  • @wirelesscps - Yes, one of the stones is slightly less than 90degrees to keep the stone cutting and centered correctly.

  • Always wondered why stones and not lathe it?

  • @Ibringthetruth1 You have to achieve a specific surface finish, honing is the only way to get that and the 60 degree crosshatch to carry some oil for purposes of lubrication.

  • @fiatnutz i see.

  • Nice :D

  • John, have you ever honed 150cc gy6 scooter cylinders? Is the process the same?

  • Cool! I' ve never seen the process in video!

  • John, Thank you for taking the time to post these videos, they are inspiring

  • Yes, I can dwell the CV-616 hone at the bottom of the cylinder. I did this to remove a few tenths of taper.

  • hey i was wondering if u could bore a trx400ex to a 440ex??

  • @brety099 Need to know the difference in piston sizes and iff there is enough material for boring. What is the trx400ex piston size? My machine can hone as small as 2" (50mm).

  • I noticed the stones seemed to dwell a bit at the bottom of the cylinder once or twice. Is being able to dwell at various points a standard feature of a CV-616?
