plants dont necessarily need sun to be alive...they can still grow in a room with only a light bulb. since God's glory shines, the plant dont need sun at all when they were created before the sun. but you should ask: is it true that the sun sets in muddy spring? or is it true that the sound of thunder is a voice of an angel? or is it true that there is something in the chest the produce semen?

nope. the word used in the Qur'an is 'yaum' which means either day or period. if it is used for period, then the period has no specific time. it is used for a very long time. in simple, it can be used interchangably. in context of 70:4, the angels ascend in a period of 50000 years. there is another verse which refer to another incident, using the same word 'yaum' for 10000 years. it doesnt say that 1 period equal to 50000 years or any other interval of time.

I did make that mistake. That still means that life was formed after the earth was only 100,000 years old. The Earth would have been a little to hot. And there is the problem of the Heavens being completed in 100,000 years.

Most of my information I got from sites asserting Qur'an miracles. The "miracle" of moving mountains contradicted what I had read about the creations story. The sun returning to its resting place being used to disprove the Qur'an I didn't copy from anyone. (And I would be suprised if anyone has thought to use it that way).
I found two times "day" or "period" was defined in relation to God or Angels, 1,000 and 50,000 years, I decided to use the latter. I did not copy the idea of calculationg a 300,000 year old earth (or universe) from any anti-islamic site.

I did start to study and read the Qur'an but after I discussed it with a Muslim, I realized that I could never get the intention of the verses. (The mening of unbeliever for instance)
I then turned to Islamic websites for common interpertations. Red Herrings like "Allah has guaranteed that He will protect the Qur'an from human tampering" indicated to me that I could not put complete trust in pro-Islamic web sites. So yes, anti-Islamic web sites I read also. Know that I didn't trust them either, expecially the Christian ones.
From an Islamic web site "Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere, Exosphere, Ionosphere, Magnetosphere." No mention is made of the verse which says first is filled with stars.

plants dont necessarily need sun to be alive...they can still grow in a room with only a light bulb. since God's glory shines, the plant dont need sun at all when they were created before the sun. but you should ask: is it true that the sun sets in muddy spring? or is it true that the sound of thunder is a voice of an angel? or is it true that there is something in the chest the produce semen?

At first, even I was amazed by the claimed miracles in the Qur'an and that it was scientifically correct. It seems to be far from that.

nope. the word used in the Qur'an is 'yaum' which means either day or period. if it is used for period, then the period has no specific time. it is used for a very long time. in simple, it can be used interchangably. in context of 70:4, the angels ascend in a period of 50000 years. there is another verse which refer to another incident, using the same word 'yaum' for 10000 years. it doesnt say that 1 period equal to 50000 years or any other interval of time.

The reason is when the word 'yaum' is said 50k years, it's only meant for that specific situation, not that it would be fixed for the whole Qur'an. That's why in other place, it says 'yaum' equal to 1000 years, to show that it can be used interhangably, not just fixed to 50k.

I did make that mistake. That still means that life was formed after the earth was only 100,000 years old. The Earth would have been a little to hot. And there is the problem of the Heavens being completed in 100,000 years.
Still, my point was that if the Earth was 300k years old then Muslims would surely claim it as a miracle.

Most of my information I got from sites asserting Qur'an miracles. The "miracle" of moving mountains contradicted what I had read about the creations story. I found two times "day" or "period" was defined in relation to God or Angels, 1,000 and 50,000 years, I decided to use the latter. I did not copy the idea of calculationg a 300,000 year old earth (or universe) from any anti-islamic site.

I did read a few suras. I mostly use harunyahya(dot)com and use the USC-MSA Muslim Texts site to compare translations.
I did start to study and read the Qur'an but after I discussed it with a Muslim, I realized that I could never get the intention of the verses. (The mening of unbeliever for instance)
