*YAWN!!!* Oh here we go again...Yet another tired person OVER USING the term "HATER."
I am not hating on your precious Michelle Williams. I'm just merely stating the TRUTH! You can sing her praises and hype her up all you want, and when you get finished her singing is STILL average at best.
There is NOTHING special about her voice at all. She is a BACKGROUND singer! I've already listened to her "stuff," and THAT'S why I can say with confidence that she SUCKS BIG TIME! Now hate on THAT!!

Ok, first off, I watched THIS particular vid because of "The Color Purple" reference, NOT Michelle Williams. HOWEVER, since I made these comments a thousand months ago, I changed my views on Michelle.
She does have decent voice and I RESPECT the fact that she is pushing on with her career and NOT hanging on to her "Destiny's Child" fame.
Now if she could just talk some sense into her girl Kelly (can't do a single interview without talking about Beyonce) Rowland. See I'm not so bad!

Michelle Williams is NOT from Chicago. She is from ROCKFORD, IL. So why is she frontin?! Anyway, I was VERY disappointed when I found out that she got the part of "Shug Avery." This girl couldn't sing her way out of a paper bag. They should have used her as an extra, or have made her a part of the chorus with the rest of the background singers. Michelle Williams is a BACKGROUND singer, period!

However, I do give the girl props for moving on with her life and career. She seems to be really trying to make name for herself in the biz, and I ain't mad at her for that.
Now if someone could advise Kelly Rowland to do the same, because she continues to pump up Beyonce and the Knowles family, while her career is in the toilet! Such a STUPID girl!

fantasia is in the one in newyork michelle is in the one in chicago but i went to see fantasia and she aint show up she was at the tony awards that night it was still good doh!
michelle actually starred in Aida when Tony Braxton left the show, and she received nothing BUT positive reviews abour her acting and theres a song clip from the show on you tube, shes amazing. Fantasia is going on broadway, Michelle is doing Shug Avery in the touring company version which may be coming to a town near you

I'm from Houston and the same thing happened when she was the headline for the Rodeo a couple of years back. Sorry, though she's probably a nice person, she can't sing all the fabuously.
actually michelle receiving positive reviews is true... i've kept up with the news online @ google to be exact. infact, most of the critics were more surprised about her acting chops! i think michelle will have a bright future in films, if not music. she's received more positive reviews on her acting than beyonce has, and bey has done more...
Michelle was indeed fired from the Aida in NYC 'cause tix sales plummeted due to her performance; I'm in the biz (not to mention, heard her). Chicago may be a little biased because that's her home; the performances were so terrible in NYC & HOU arenas that I opted out of the CHI experience. However, it's a colorful world & it takes all kinds to make it work. Be blessed but do find more sources of info than online and Google. Your second comment is also untrue. Sorry.
well news online are a lot more reliable than one person's opinion - like yours! and i believe she did the aida until her contract was up. also even after michelle the ticket sales continued to plummet and eventually they decided to close it. also u hearing her and not liking her voice, well that's not new. there are DC fans who don't like her voice too.
They actually extended her contract - she was suppose to be done in January - I remember - but then she got extended to February...And trust me, they would not let her stay that long if they did not want her there...
They would have had Deborah Cox come on earlier, if that were the case....
Or just had an understudy
I think AIDA lost it's appeal - just a little bit - that is why they closed - Attendees of that play started to be AIDA junkies, like me....LOL
Well I heard Michelle 3 times in The Color Purple...NOT BEING PERFORMED IN CHICAGO but Arizona and she is AMAZING! Her voice is incredible. My friend didn't like Michelle before he heard her sing live. By intermission, he changed his opinion about her. She is great. She deserves more credit then people are giving her especially YOU!
