Ok, let me reframe my statement. Beyonce is decent on pop songs, ballads & slow jams are a no-no for her. I hate it when she tries to sing really high notes. It sounds like nails on a chalk board to my ears.

Here's the biggest difference, and I'm not "hating" because I like Riri, Cici and B, but look at those clips of Rhianna, Beyonce and Ciara and then look at some of Toni's videos from the early 90s. Take for instance, "Another Sad Love Song" and "How could an Angel Break My Heart." Toni sells her talent---NOT HER BODY. Toni has always been a high standard of beauty and that goes unquestioned in her videos, but the precedence placed on "skin" and "sexiness" has really gone overboard these days.

One last note is that I want to say not to rule Toni out as one of the best vocalists today. Just because she sings in a low register doesn't mean she can't blow. She may not be better than Whitney and Mariah, but she could hang with them on stage if you know what I mean, she wouldn't look foolish or out of place and could tear the place down look at her live stuff. In fact my dream live collaboration would include Whitney, Mariah and Toni and Hell Celine and a few others.

One last note is that I want to say not to rule Toni out as one of the best vocalists today. Just because she sings in a low register doesn't mean she can't blow. She may not be better than Whitney and Mariah, but she could hang with them on stage if you know what I mean, she wouldn't look foolish or out of place and could tear the place down look at her live stuff. I will say though, I think Kelly would be an awesome gospel voice.. those type of ballads suit her voice just right (in my opinion). Right now she hasn't really found her nitch.. she's done alternative, pop, & now hip-hop/r&b.. but she's highly underestimated. O & I forgot to mention Fantasia; #underestimated!

I am glad beyonce is putting herself out there especially as an African American woman. But why must there only be one great female star? I mean they left room for lady Gaga. But than again she is white. How sad. Beyonce will storm to the rescue when someone black does well, but when someone white comes along she steps to the side.

The entire industry knows that!! Who in their right mind would think Ciara or Rihanna is more talented. Put all favoritism aside. Love her, hate her but you cannot deny her talent and she is now the world's greatest. When they are being honored like B then you can compare.
