  • as far i now first the electric starter then ignitor then fuel then starter off then igniter off of then generator on then standby power on then avionics power on then aux pump on .

the aux pump is for when taking of or landing or manuevers.

well , the caravan procedure is diferent then other turbo props i see.

  • hé starts the plane with the generator switch on , mm wierd.seem like the electric started has a long life to live , olso setting the aux fuel pump to on while the fuel leveler is on cut. seem like the pump is going to have a long life. and setting the fuel leveler on 100 percent on takeoff , wow that jet engine has to swalow it. but then after take off hé lowers the throttle and the prop pitch . i realy dont understand.

  • Nice footage !!! Sounds great

  • Did he take off with 20 Percent flaps anyone? I thought the norm was 10.

  • What are you waring!! HAHA just jokin!

  • Ironically, jet fuel is cheaper than avgas. So, Cessna Caravan or Beechcraft Baron?

  • He forgot to retract the landing gear.

  • @sixstringfretter LMAO!! The caravan doesnt have a retractable landing gear. Its fixed.

  • @SevinSyn Oh, well, that would explain why he skipped that step, huh?

  • Nice VFR flying, captain!

  • @ winnipegfiredep it was taken by skydiverotterdam at rotterdam airport Netherlands

  • I love the C208! So wanna fly with it in reallife and on the copilots side. Where had the vid been taken?

  • Absolutely fuckin gorgeous!!!

  • yeah....checklists are over rated anyway

  • ... What are the swiches to the left of the Pilot... are they the Igniters...?!

  • @4crevis The panel left facing up has the bat, avionics, ign, starter, generator,st pwr and fuel boost switchers.

  • @neilypilot sorry, i had a oneway ticket to 12000ft

  • amazing video :D shame you had to jump out it :( (I saw your skydiver comment)

  • @tinyman12323 Yes he was moving the trim with a button on the yoke. It's really awesome to have one of those too :)

  • Good pilot, great startup the Ng was on spot at idle too!

  • @chair5432 Thank you chair, i was the pilot in this nice clip made by Ludo.

  • Did you move that trim wheel with a controll on your yoke?

  • whats ierplane

  • he has a mirror! :D lol

  • Oh listen to that baby purr!!!

  • Oh baby listen to that baby purr!!!

  • thanks bernardfreirez greatings from holland!

  • IT´S A GREAT VÍDEO....GRETTIGNS FROM ECUADOR!!!!

  • Full flap takeoff?

  • @nocalsteve You're right , I fly often the Caravan , and on a runway of 800 m we put 20° . And an other thing , It's not nessecery to check your instruments when the battery is off --'

  • oh my god i love this plane.

  • what does the blue handdle do is it like feather prop?

  • @TheProPilot100

    I don't know. Sorry. I am a skydiver.

  • @deludodegruiter The blue prop lever changes the pitch of the propeller blades. When the lever is down the blades are feathered. :)

  • @TheProPilot100 it moves the prop to increase performance

  • @TheProPilot100 as a Pilot respond: Yes it is the Prop control, and it does allow to feather it as well..

  • @TheProPilot100 exactly this, the blue handle is the propeller rpm control, and it also feathers the propeller if pulled fully back

  • @TheProPilot100 the blue handle is the RPM lever, it is connected to the prop governor located on the engine. the governor modulates oil pressure to the prop to change the blade pitch. It tries to maintain a constant prop speed (hence those are called "Constant Speed Props") the prop feathering is accomplished by moving that lever to the full aft position. To reverse thrust (if the aircraft can) the throttle is moved to idle, and then further back for reverse thrust. hope that answers it!

  • @TheProPilot100

It controls the propeller rpm (and can feather the prop depending on the aircraft). Forward is faster, rearward is slower. He's pulling it back in the climb to reduce to a climb power setting, less rpm means less noise for the passangers and higher fuel efficiency in cruise.

  • @TheProPilot100 Blue lever is the propeller pitch.

  • @TheProPilot100 Blue lever is the propeller pitch

  • @TheProPilot100....it's called the propeller control lever, it controls the RPM through the angle of the propeller.

  • @TheProPilot100 it controls prop pitch an feather so if i push it forward it will increase rpm an intake an pull it backward it will reduce rpm an take in less air i fly the c208 in sim for caribsky

  • @TheProPilot100 It is the prop feather actually, it adjusts the blade angle on the prop....

  • @TheProPilot100 yes it does it changes the angle of attack

  • @TheProPilot100 Yes the blue one is feather prop

  • @TheProPilot100 the blue handle controls the pitch of the propeller blades.. And yes you are right, it also can feather the props.

  • @TheProPilot100 Yess it is

  • @TheProPilot100 Yes it is

  • @TheProPilot100

The caravan has a "constant speed" propeller, meaning that it strives to maintain whatever RPM it's set at, no matter where the throttle is. The pilot sets the desired prop speed with the blue lever.

  • @TheProPilot100 Yes. During this start up it is in the MAX RPM position, usually the PT6 is started with the prop in feather.

  • @TheProPilot100 as much as i know i could tell its Prop control.. not sure really.. :D

  • @TheProPilot100 Blue handle changes the pitch of the propeller. In other words change the angle of the blades relative to the airflow. I'm only PPL so i'm not too clued up on this but I think that's pretty much it.

  • @TheProPilot100 yeap. between throttle and fuel mix is prop control/mix :)

  • Beautiful plane eh !

  • @TheProPilot100 the blue one is for oxygen supply.

  • @TheProPilot100 The blue lever is for prop control. The caravan has a variable pitch prop which during take-off is full forward taking the biggest bite of air possible and at the lowest is taking the smallest bite of air. Hopefully this makes sense. :) But yes, it is used to feather the prop too.

  • @TheProPilot100 yes that's the feather handle

  • @TheProPilot100 It controls the RPM of the propeller. With a variable pitch propeller, the power of the gas turbine (controlled by the throttle) and the propeller RPM can be controlled independently (within limits).

  • @TheProPilot100 The blue handle controls the pitch of the prop. This 208 grand caravan has an adjustable prop. When the blue handle is all the way up like in the video, the prop is feathered down to take a smaller bite of air, thus it rotates faster and can achieve more thrust. When all the way down its feathered up and takes a bigger bite of air. The handle is normally kept up for takeoff, climb, and landing, and down (to some extent) for cruising.

  • @TheProPilot100 yes. the blue handle works the pitch of the propeller blades and can, if needed, feather the prop.

  • @TheProPilot100 It changes the propeller blade pitch angle to get the best performance for the certain phase of flight you're in.

  • @TheProPilot100 Its the prop pitch setting knob.

  • @TheProPilot100 it the proper..

  • @TheProPilot100 yes it is!

  • @TheProPilot100

The blue lever on the throttle quadrant is used to control the pitch of the propeller. Reverse thrust is enabled by bringing back the throttle fully, past low idle position.

  • @TheProPilot100 usually its prop pitch which controls how much air the prop pushes so it also feathers them

  • @TheProPilot100 Indeed, it regulates the pitch of the prop. Full forward is minimum pitch (take off, climb, descent), full aft is maximum pitch (cruise)

  • @TheProPilot100 it is to change the angle of the blade,

  • Comment removed

  • @TheProPilot100 it is

    Groetjes.

  • :-)

  • Hij is mooi... Enkel een erretje teveel in de sleephut.
