LOL, some people! I hope you had a dusk mask on before doing that. I see this kinda thing all the time. I use my shop vac, sucking up the majority of the dust then blowing whats left out.
Never did thing about videoing it though, great idea. You have a new subscriber!
Nice cleaning trick I do the same thing but I have a recycled blower fan from an old hair dryer and I run that off a jumpstart box and I stick the vacuum near the case and then just blow the shit out of the computer with the blower and get the dust flying and the vacuum sucks it all up. I sometimes remove the CPU fan and clean it as well.
Corey that green cpu cover does swing open my mom has a dell at least they use a copper heatsink plus dell was cheap on just using one fan in the rear so if that goes I can see the system shutting down from a failed fan.
Surprised it even worked with all the dust.

why didn't you use a garden hose instead?

How someone lets their computer go that long without maintenance is beyond me.

I sneezed just from watching this...

That's one way to do it! I used compressed air and made a video to compare the cpu temps before and after.

dont forget to blow out the CPU heatsink and the powersupply, i usualy stick a wooden stick to hold the fans from spinning
maxhax2000 6 months ago
@maxhax2000 It looked like he did. And the power alone probably did the job well anyways, before he got to it xD

were these people dumb or something? like do you not see all the dust. and by that point the computer would be extremely loud.

The people who owned it smoke don't they? Because the dust has that typical brown tinge.
The windchimes add a nice eerie touch to it too. LOL

Nice I would say the cpu is really over heating plus the power supply
coolastro 2 years ago 3
OMFG? That was worst than my computer XD thats a nice motherboard though, looks pretty modern
6 USB Ports
5 Audio Ports
Mouse and Keyboard PS/2 Ports
Onboard VGA
Serial port
i dunno what the long pink one is :P
2007FORLife 2 years ago 3
How can you call that mobo modern
This looks like a dell dimension from 2004-ish. It was probably a lower-end one since it uses ide hard drives and doesn't have pci express.
And the long ping port is an LPT port for old printers.
Spritanium 2 years ago 10
@Spritanium 2004 is modern. Looks like it's a 775 BTX motherboard and most likely has a 3GHZ 775 pentium 4 or Celeron @ 2.4-3.0 GHZ

@Spritanium
someone that uses a gateway ;) any surprise ?
hitm4n1985 11 months ago
That is cool but you didn't take the shroud off the cpu?? I'd assume you are going to clean that separately.

That's insane. What was actually wrong with it tho?
