Ti should be commended for making a watchable oldfashioned horror movie, one that doesn't talk down to its audience or secretly laughs at it for being silly enough to waste time on the latest flashy garbage product. Luckily there's directors willing to go against the tides with all the crap remakes, shaky cam fast cut shit and weird unnatural coloring. This was a nice breather and to hear the director here say it's something different is also true sadly, 30 years ago the style was just normal.

Fuck that, the character wasn't developed at all, hell, none of them were, the characters were the most bland excuses for movie characters I've ever seen. The only thing good about this movie was the concept.

HOTD succeeds on nearly EVERY level. Suspense, atmospheric, eerie cinematography, a EXCELLENT score, a wonderful cinematic flavor similar to movies of the 70's which is SORELY lacking today... Watch it for Dee Wallace's cameo alone...
