  • Can't see how he set it uppppp few seconds earlier than the hit would have been nice to see -_ -

  • @M1i2K3E4 Check the full version, should show up in related vids :)

Also there should be enough there to hint as to how he pulled it off. ^.-

  • 1 people dislike this video... his name is Park '-'

  • For a tournament setting it does not need to be a text book hiki-men, thats why shinpan even at the AJKC call kote where one person is completely bent over to one side and hitting from an impossible angle. This is not a shinsa, its shiai, so this is a great hit.

  • I may not know much about kendo, but I just wanna say two things 1) that was cool. 2) BOOM! HEAD SHOT!

  • Too deep...all right hand. His left hand twists above his right hand. When cutting men left hand on the bottom always.... right? Its just soooooo fast and loud. The photos of it in Kendo Jidai show many different angles. From the other side it looks like a bent cut,but only for 1/10th of a second

  • Looks like Teramoto-san had a perfect hiki-men to me as well.

  • form is so off, 0:04 -

  • holy the shinais are practically bending like rubber

  • Textbook hiki-men. I would also like to see a side by side comparison between Teramoto's hiki-men and Park's hiki-men.

  • Perhaps I was a bit hasty in calling it a textbook hiki-men. I agree that it was a little off center in terms of his hands but nevertheless, I'd say all the elements of yukotatotsu are there.

  • Yes, I agree.

  • yeah i'll agree with that, far from text book but valid none the less!

  • @neogtrmn i agree, not to prety waza but effective yukodatotsubui, nice zanshin also,

  • @neogtrmn Yep, taking the hands off centre is not pretty, but its obviously effective.

  • @neogtrmn in the other full video if you can pause it @ 7:32 then you can see that Tearamoto Sensei had fallen into one of the shikai briefly but it was enough time because he tried to dodge it and Park had hit it straight on, it didn't slip or miss (i.e hitting the men-gare) it was a solid hiki-men, and right after that Teramoto Sensei had hit a straight men where Park had leaned back and gotten hit right above the men-gare, so alot of points were missed but this was a great match

  • seems a perfect hiki-men to me :).

I have respect for the referees that they can judge so clearly in such difficult moments...

  • With the slo-mo replay there's no doubt that the hiki-men is in.

  • That's a perfect hiki-men strike with zanshin.

  • No, not perfect, but certainly owned the opportunity and made the point.

  • Sounds like a bomb going off in slow motion.
