Don't you hate how they mount the rear sights on the ZM LR-300 in the middle of a rifle? That's not where you put it, GSC!
I know what you mean, been very frustrated lately, game has slowed completely to a crawl, recording it barely runs at 1 FPS. I used to get around 9-10 usually :(
That and it rained today so I had to cancel my range trip. Ugh, it's been one of those days again.
I don't think they need to make it blurry. Just like they don't need to obscure the screen with an inside-the-helmet-or-gasmask-view. Monitor screens are confined enough as they are. No need to confine an FPS player's peripheral vision more than it already is.
The Call of Duty series does it ok. They have something called "Depth of Field" where things get blurry to simulate your focus changing. For example, when reloading your weapon the focus is on it, so the rest of your view is blurry. When aiming with ghost ring sights, the ring itself is blurry (or...ghostly?) but what your target clear, and the edges of the screen are blurry to simulate peripheral vision. You'd need a wrap-around monitor of some sort to truly incorporate peripheral vision.
@IggyHazard no no i was replying to Otacon237 you know depth of field like when you aim down your sights the the image on the sides get's blurry similar to real life aiming
@Slic3R1 They have that in the other STALKER games. I think Killing Floor also has that. I'm usually focusing on-target, so I'm not sure. I know Borderlands has that.
Good song, no?
Anyways, we all have our days. But still, it makes for good video material!

OLP remade the LR-300 weapon model, but the rear sight is in the same place. I think GSC made it that way because of how the SUSAT attaches.

Probably. Still though, I'd like to see them do it the right way with the peep sights closer to your eye and blurry. Maybe in STALKER 3

Stereoscopic vision would be hard to represent on a single plane-of-view.
