No its not a mistake, notice at 4:05, he is hold one gold object(Kind of flat) and there is another gold object(Rod shaped) that is shape completely different already in his shirt. Now the thief steals the kind of flat object then when the guy turns around the object you see is the rod shaped object hanging out. So no there was no mistake.
