@4inches4u side shifts is where you can slide the backhoe from side to side ,not centre monuted like on most american machines ,the yanks think sideshifts tip over easy and are unstable ,but this is not true ,here in the uk if you had a centre mount machine it would be sat for a long time as there is not the room to use them especialy on roadwork
