If your didn't realize, there's a DJ with a tech board. When he plays a part, the sound gets transferred via wire into the machine which creates a loop that can be played at anytime. It's a good blend of technology if you ask me, and very clever. So yeah, he IS playing, he's just using an innovative way to play various piano parts at the same time with the same keys.
