  • Is it possible to install OS X Tiger (10.4.x) on the Mini 9? I know Leopard and S.Leo. work, but I wasn't sure about 10.4.

    Thanks!

  • I do appreciate this video... Nice one... thanks

  • Can you also do this with a dell inspiron 1545 i also have a mac pro for the mac part

  • Fantastic video, but please, can I install Snow Leopard retail the same way?

  • Yes, but there's newer software called NetBook Installer (NBI/NBM) that's designed for Snow. Do a search under the OS X section of mydellminiDOTCOM

  • @lantzn Thanks so much!!! So, I would pretty much follow your vid except substitute Snow Leopard for Leopard and substitute the NBI/NBM for the EFI? You are a superb teacher, you must be a prof. Thanks again. PS, a great editor, actor and computer dude too. :)

  • The installation would be very similar but you'll need to follow the NetBook Installer software instructions because it different and was made by a different person.

  • @lantzn Thank you so much...

  • hey.. amazing video! But which Runcore drive do we need? Does it matter how much gig they have? And can I use the MacOSX CD delivered together with a MacBook Pro?

    Thanks..

  • Just order any Runcore 16GB or larger for the mini 9. It should have the usb port on it. Some folks have had luck using the disks that came with their Macs. See the link in my description for the written instructions that go with this video.

  • Can I use a Dell Vostro A90 that has Ubunto on it? If so, how do I get ito its BIOS to change the USB settings Thanks.

  • Yes you can, the Vostro is the business version of the mini 9. Look in the info to the right of this video. If you expand to show all the info you will find a link to my step by step instructions that go with these videos. It will explain how to change the BIOS there.

  • Thank you very much Iantzn, I just ordered the A90, but now I have another problem-- folks are saying that the Runcore Pro IV SSDs get killed in the Mini 9. What do you suggest? is the Runcore Pro, the original, is it just as fast as a Pro IV? Should I take the chance witha Pro IV? Please, what should I do?

  • Thank you for the clear, precise tutorial. It has helped many people.

  • Will this work with Snow Leopard? And will it work with Dell Mini10?

  • unsure

  • No there's newer software called NetBookMaker (NBI/NBM) that's designed for those 2 options. Do a search under the OS X section of mydellminiDOTCOM.

  • for the intel mac, can u install leopard to the runcore if the intel mac has tiger? what are OS are u using for your intel mac?

  • I have Leopard 10.5 on my Intel Mac. I haven't ran 10.4 in quite some time.

  • can you upgrade leopard using the system update after this?

  • Absolutely, it's basically a Mac and runs just like it. This Dell is very similar to the hardware in the Mac mini.

  • possibly this is a noob question, but, is it possible to do the same thing with an eee pc (901), i mean the same install procedure, cause i´ve the same runcore ssd...?

    thx

  • I just test these instructions using OS X 10.5.7 and DellEFI 1.2a5 and it went perfect.

  • is it still running with 10.5.7 without any obstables ?

  • Yes, I set it up for my wife's machine. She uses it daily, a lot, and hasn't asked me to fix one thing on it, which is saying a helluva lot in itself.

    2 thumbs up on 10.5.7 and 1.2a5.

  • Update: I have stayed with 10.5.7 and the initial install (not running any updates) and this machine is VERY SOLID running. Not a single issue with it.

  • Why do you back up the RunCore if it's brand new and obviously has no data on it?

  • Should you wish to return it or sell it at a later date you would want to restore it instead of selling it with your stuff on it or unformatted.

  • Forgot to mention these files are on the Runcore new;

    System Volume Information

    TrueImage11_s_en.exe

  • oh my i did it lol thanks

  • Hell yeah! Nice tutorial. Thanks!

  • thanks brutha
