@brandon0trevino I signed up personally. As long as you have a checking account, you're good to go. You are free to register a business if you wish, but you're not obligated.
@markyw19 I'm the wrong person to ask, as are many of the early to not-exactly-early adopters. Over the summer of 2010, Square had a problem with sourcing the readers. It took me months.
That being said, now that they have a solid source and improved design, I'm hearing reports of readers being shipped in the same week. My thought? Sign up anyway. It's free, and if you decide to go with someone else because they can ship it out faster, do both!
@mehrshadvr4 I don't think they're set up for gratuities yet. The squareup.com support forums seek new features from people all the time. Maybe this was asked already.
My thought is that they're working out all the bugs to avoid abuse. How easy would it be for an unscrupulous seller to sell something, not tell the customer about the gratuity, and just fill it in themselves? I email square with these security concerns and they always consider them (frequent updates with more secure apps)
LMFAO @ the end. I was listening to the "straight forward" review while in another program and almost spit out my coffee haha. Was not expecting that .
This works great for selling my Crack to those damn upper class dicks that only carry plastic. I can take a photo of the rock I just sold them so they can see when they come down from there high how great my product looked! Great review dude, love the humor. Thumbs up..
i have a question i was testing my new card reader where it has a plastic at the bottum it was fun and i was testing my credit card, u know seeing how it works, so i paid from my credit card to my square account, hoping it would make a circle from my credit card and go back to my account,, but the money desapeared from my credit card,,, i lost 80$ testing the peice of shit out!!!!!
You'll get the money tomorrow in your checking account, minus the 2.5% and 15 cents. You can do a return I think and it'll refund you completely, check the website squareup.com
I am opening a dry cleaning business. If I have repeats customers do I have to always type in their email if I enter it the once or will it automatically pop up after I swipe their cc?

@keithanddeb I'm not 100% sure since most of my customers are one time (I sell crack, and by crack, I mean my band's music and merch).
From what I understand from the forums on squareup.com, it's not yet supported, but it seems that a number of users would like to see it implemented.
My advice - get it anyway, and wait for the software update that supports this feature.
