I have the 2 alpine type Xs and you should be embarrassed. "If you dont do it like this, then you shouldnt do it at all" are you serious? the only quality thing either of these winners have in their cars is the speakers. the boxes look like garbage, the wires are run terrible, maybe the worst ive ever seen. and the interior speakers probably arent replaced and the awesome "Eclipse" head unit was brought at a flee market for 25 dollars im sure. you should eat your own words and not do it at all.
i have a 02 grand am gt. can you reccomend me something that would sound good that i can have installed at a resonable price. something thats would sound nice as hell in my GT
workin on an upgrade to my jeep also video should be up soon. upgrade alternator 6 type R's and another clarion 1500 two more 4 inch speakers in rear door
i dunno bout that son ive gone to several stereo shops and been told at every one that type Rs can be louder type x sounds a cleaner than type R and also a guy in winona minnesota has 4 type rs on one 1500 and hitts 146 db consistantly all day my box in this video is slightly larger in height than it should be and im hittin 150 db so it could be a little louder. two type x's with a 2000 watt amp on it hit 142 db at the last comp. either way alpines the way to go for loud and quality
everybody and their best bud's grandma has alpine type r's, and i never was really all that impressed with the type x's either, they aren't something to rave about.. really want loud and quality get a set of RE XXX 12's or 15's they are clear as hell, and loud enough to take your breath away... i heard a alpine rep's car he had type x everything inc. 2 12's, and i never was once impressed...
agree on the r hitin harder than the x but alpine no no mmats the way to go i got 1600wrms into 1 12" dread my bro gots 4 12" r's n my single 12 on 1600rms hitts way the fck harder n louder on the tl!! if u wanna be loud n shit get somethin better than a company that mass produsses ther shit
Honestly, I think with the right combination of amps, in the right vehicle, 2 12" X's can be just as loud. But with only one 1500 on the X's and two on the 4 12's the type R's are slightly louder

also at such high decibles it takes a lot to make a difference two 1500 amps only made a 4 decible difference than one
